The transverse sinus (TS) is often involved with pathology for structural reasons. The aim of this study was to improve understanding of the anatomy along the groove of the TS and sigmoid sinus (SS), to discuss the relationship between the bony features and pathologies affecting the TS. Seventy dry skulls (140 sides) were used for detailed observation of the TS and SS grooves using gross investigation coupled with transillumination.

Background: In this case report, we present for the first time central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) and central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) as a complication of persistent hyaloid artery (PHA).
Case Presentation: In August 2019, a six-year-old male patient manifested right eye (RE) excessive tearing, conjunctival injection and pain. On examination, RE demonstrated light perception and intraocular pressure of 36 mmHg.

Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency-induced thermotherapy (RFiTT) combined with transilluminated powered phlebectomy (TIPP) in the treatment of lower limb varicose veins (VVs) in comparison with high ligation and stripping (HLS) combined with TIPP.
Methods: The patients with lower limb VVs were randomly assigned to RFiTT combined with TIPP or HLS combined with TIPP. The primary end point was total closure rate of the great saphenous vein at 12 months.

Background: Described variations of tentorial venous anatomy impact surgical sectioning of the tentorium in skull base approaches; however, described configurations do not consistently explain postoperative complications. To understand the outcomes of 2 clinical cases we studied the tentorial venous anatomy of 2 cadavers.
Methods: The venous anatomy of the tentorium isolated in 2 uninjected fresh cadaver head specimens with preserved bridging veins was observed by transillumination before and after methylene blue injection of the dural sinuses and tentorial veins.
