Sixty-eight morphologically distinct isolates of marine actinomycetes were derived from seashore, mangrove, and saltpan ecosystems located between the Palk Strait and Gulf of Mannar region, Bay of Bengal, Tamilnadu. Twenty-five (36.8%) isolates exhibited anti-mycotic activity against Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans in preliminary screening, and 4 isolates with prominent activity were identified and designated at the genus level as Streptomyces sp.

Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Escola de Medicina Estácio-Idomed, Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo State, Brazil.

Purpose Of Review: Invasive fungal infection (IFI) in children is a growing problem with crescent morbidity and mortality, well recognized in developed countries, affecting mainly immunocompromised children, including neonates and children in intensive care units. The burden of IFI in South American children is less well comprehended. In addition, the current epidemiology of endemic systemic mycoses in children may have changed over time.

Studies show that microorganisms resistant to numerous antibiotics spread infections, lengthen hospital stays, and increase fatalities. Amplification factors increase the demand for innovative drug-resistant disease-fighting chemicals. This research synthesised the chiral L-phenyl alanine condensed with a 2, 4-dihydroxy benzaldehyde Schiff base for biological efficacy investigations such as antimicrobial, antidiabetic, DPPH free radical, MTT assay against HeLa cells and hemolysis studies after the characterization.

is the most prevalent and notorious of the species involved in bloodstream infections, which is characterised by its capacity to form robust biofilms. Biofilm formation is an important clinical entity shown to be highly variable among clinical isolates. There are various environmental and physiological factors, including nutrient availability which influence the phenotype of species.

Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is usually treated with high-dose intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) as severe infectious and other diseases. Due to issues that are associated with immunoglobulin preparation, such as the risk of possible contamination by infectious agents and limited blood banking resources, recombinant immunoglobulins are required. We developed a novel recombinant antibody drug candidate, "VasSF," based on the therapeutic effects it exerted on a mouse spontaneous crescentic glomerulonephritis model (SCG/Kj).
