Scabies is a common skin infestation with a high prevalence in populations with low socioeconomic conditions. The topical application of benzyl benzoate (BB) is effective due to its neurotoxic effects on mites; however, its efficacy remains inconsistent and ambiguous across studies. In contrast, topical permethrin 5% has emerged as one of the most widely prescribed treatments for scabies, attributed to its relatively high efficacy.

Introduction: Scabies is a skin condition that affects humans and many other mammalian hosts. It is brought on by the major obligate parasite Sarcoptes scabiei, which lives and reproduces in the epidermis and causes significant morbidity in both humans and animals.
Methodology: The current study aimed to determine the immunological responses of 60 patients who were clinically infested with scabies and who attended the Department of Dermatology at Azadi Teaching Hospital and the Gulan General Hospital at Akre.

Unusual skin infection localization represents a challenge to physicians regarding presentation and mode of acquisition, all of which might influence the diagnosis. At the same time, the administration of incorrect drugs due to a misdiagnosis might have a negative impact on the disease course. This article presents two case reports detailing the unusual presentation of larva migrans and scabies mites infection in two Italian patients, highlighting the importance of clinical vigilance and comprehensive evaluation of patients.

American black bears (Ursus americanus) admitted to a Virginia rehabilitation center were tested for Ursicoptes americanus. From 2014 to 2023, 23 of 150 (15.3 %) bears were positive with higher prevalence in juveniles and females.

Sarcoptic mange has been described in domestic South American camelids (SACs), exported to non-Andean countries, and in wild SAC in their natural habitat. Reports on the incidence of this infestation in llamas or alpacas raised in their original location, on the other hand, are missing.
