From the Department of Radiology, Mayo Clinic, 200 1st St SW, Rochester, MN 55905 (H.N., H.T., N.T.); and Departments of Radiology (C.V.W., A.K.) and Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (M.L.S.), Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) originates in the renal pelvis or ureters and typically affects elderly patients, with its incidence increasing over the past few decades. UTUC is a distinct clinical entity with more aggressive clinical behavior than that of lower tract urothelial carcinoma. Due to the significant challenge of acquiring an adequate tissue sample for biopsy, comprehensive risk stratification is required for treatment planning, including radical nephroureterectomy and kidney-sparing management.

Background: Prescribing errors put an enormous burden on health and the economy, claiming implementation of effective methods to prevent/reduce them. Polypharmacy regimens (five or more drugs) are highly prone to unacknowledged prescribing errors, since the complex network of drug-drug interactions, guidelines and contraindications is challenging to be adequately evaluated in the prescription phase, especially if different doctors are involved. Clinical decision support systems aimed at polypharmacy evaluation may be crucial to recognize and correct prescribing errors.

Purpose Of Review: To provide a comprehensive update on the role of genetic testing for the evaluation of kidney transplant recipient and living donor candidates.

Recent Findings: The evaluation of candidates for living donor transplantation and their potential donors occur within an ever-changing landscape impacted by new evidence and risk assessment techniques. Criteria that were once considered contraindications to living kidney donation are now viewed as standard of care, while new tools identify novel risk markers that were unrecognized in past decades.

Background: Neurological complications due to chikungunya virus (CHIKV) infection have been described in different parts of the world, with children being disproportionately affected. However, the burden of CHIKV-associated neurological disease in Africa is currently unknown and given the lack of diagnostic facilities in routine care it is possible that CHIKV is an unrecognized etiology among children with encephalitis or other neurological illness.

Methods And Findings: We estimated the incidence of CHIKV infection among children hospitalized with neurological disease in Kilifi County, coastal Kenya.
