Background: In-transit metastases (ITMs) are cutaneous or subcutaneous regional metastases that may occur in patients with melanoma. ITMs are often multiple and new lesions tend to appear over time. Ultrasonography can detect impalpable subcutaneous tumors.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the value of ultrasound examination in detecting additional, non-palpable ITMs and to determine their relevance.

Methods: Melanoma patients with ITMs who underwent regional ultrasound examination of the skin and subcutaneous tissue between the wide excision scar of the primary melanoma and the regional lymph node field were identified. In most, ultrasound assessment also included the regional lymph node field. Relevant data were collected and analyzed.

Results: Twenty-eight patients presenting with a total of 40 ITMs were included. Ultrasound examination identified additional ITMs in 15 patients (54%). No nodal recurrences were detected. Most additional lesions were found closer to the regional lymph nodes than the original ITMs. Management was influenced by the ultrasound findings in nine patients (32%), five of whom had more extensive surgery, three received systemic drug therapy instead of surgery, and in one patient surgery was delayed and follow-up intensified. In one patient, only subcutaneous fat was found in the excised specimen and the ultrasound was classified as false-positive.

Conclusion: In melanoma patients with ITMs, ultrasonography of the lymphatic drainage area provided valuable information, as additional ITMs were identified in more than half of these patients and management was influenced in one-third.

Introduction: Ultrasound imaging (US) is the method of choice to assess the canine prostate gland. Whilst recent studies have documented the role of castration in the development of prostatic neoplasia, little is known about parenchymal and perfusion features of the normal and abnormal prostate in neutered dogs. No data are available concerning prostatic changes after the first 90 days following castration.

Introduction: Severe or complicated atheromatosis of the aortic arch represents an important and often underdiagnosed embolic source in patients with ischemic stroke. The presence of a floating thrombus has significant clinical relevance, as it is associated with a high risk of early recurrence. The aim of this study was to analyze the potential of echocardiographic examination through the suprasternal window in both the detection of embolic sources and the monitoring of the response to anticoagulant treatment in patients with mobile thrombi.

Background: Adrenal Vein Sampling (AVS) is the gold standard for categorizing primary aldosteronism (PA). However, catheterization of the right adrenal vein (RAV) can be technically challenging. This study aimed to investigate the validity of the right renal vertebral contour as fluoroscopic landmarks to help RAV orifice localization during AVS.

Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most prevalent chronic liver condition in children, underscoring the urgent need for non-invasive markers for early detection in this population.

Methods: We utilized survey data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2017-2020 regarding liver ultrasound transient elastography (LUTE) for the diagnosis of NAFLD (dependent variable), and used multiple logistic regression models to explore the association between weight-adjusted waist circumference index (WWI) and the prevalence of NAFLD in US adolescents. Smoothing curves and threshold effect analyses were used to assess the non-linear association between the independent variables and the dependent variable.

Aim Of The Study: To assess the serum level of Mac-2 binding protein glycosylation isomer as a potential biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in hepatitis C virus (HCV) cirrhotic patients.

Material And Methods: Ninety patients were separated into two groups for the current research. Group I consisted of 45 patients with HCV that resulted in liver cirrhosis but no HCC.
