Published: October 2020

We studied the effect of non-selective agonist of VIP receptors of vasoactive intestinal polypeptide in different concentrations on the frequency, force, and duration of isometric contraction of myocardial strips of the right atrium under conditions of spontaneous activity, as well as the force and duration of contractions of the right ventricle in rats. It was found that the agonist produced a positive inotropic and chronotropic effect that depended on its concentration. The maximum effect was observed at vasoactive intestinal peptide concentration of 10 M.
