Understanding the interaction between nanomaterials and cellular structures is crucial for nanoparticle applications in biomedicine. We have identified a subtype of stress granules, called nanomaterial-provoked stress granules (NSGs), induced by gold nanorods (AuNRs). These NSGs differ from traditional SGs in their physical properties and biological functions.

Objective: A number of susceptibility genes in prostate tissue have been identified to be associated with prostate cancer (PCa) risk. However, the reported genes based on assessing prostate tissue could not fully explain PCa genetic susceptibility. It is believed that genes functioning in the immune system may fill in the gap of some missing heritability.

Background And Objectives: The importance of social participation for older adults has been well articulated. Missing from this discourse is a critical consideration of how social participation is shaped by political, economic, and social contexts that marginalize aging and disabled bodies. We bridge this gap by applying critical gerontology and critical disability frameworks to our analysis of how access to health and social services and individual and environmental factors, are associated with engagement in valued social activities among disabled older adults.
