Effect of a Wrist Harmonic Liquid Tremor Absorber-Damping on the Upper Extremity Essential Tremor.

Mov Disord

January 2025

ALEA Neurotechnology Research and Development Company, Ankara, Türkiye.

Background: Essential tremor (ET) is a common type of tremor. Previous research has shown that wearable orthoses and biomechanical loading methods can suppress tremors.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the effect of a harmonic liquid dampener on upper extremity ET.

Introduction: The aim of this study is to discover a fast and efficient method for the diagnosis of serous effusion cytology specimens by comparing the cytomorphological features of SurePath (SP) smears and smears prepared by cytospin. After the macroscopic features of the incoming material were recorded, it was divided into 2 for conventional technique (CT) and liquid-based technique. Cytospin was used for CT and SurePath for liquid-based technique in this study.

Six hydrophobic magnetic guanidinium ionic liquids (HMILs) were designed and prepared for the extraction of DNA. The physical and thermal properties of the HMILs were characterized using vibrating sample magnetometry, density meter, rotational rheometer, Karl Fischer moisture, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, and thermogravimetric analysis. Single-stranded DNA and duplex DNA extracted by HMILs can be rapidly collected by a magnet.

A novel ionic liquid-based vortex assisted dispersive liquid-liquid micro extraction procedure(IL-VADLLμE) was proposed for the enrichment of toxic metals, cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) in different types of water samples, domestic treated and groundwater (tube well and hand pump). Whereas, the concentration of both toxic metals was also determined in the scalp hair of children (age ranged 1-3 years), drinking contaminated groundwater termed as exposed group, whereas for comparative purposes scalp hair of age matched children consumed domestically treated water, named as non-exposed group. To preconcentrate the trace levels of Cd and Pb, a green chelating agent, l-cysteine (2-amino-3-sulfhydrylpropanoic acid) was used for complexation, an ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [BMIM] [PF] utilized as extractant and hexafluorophosphate ion (PF) as anion pairing agent, which facilitate the enrichment of hydrophobic complexes of analytes into the acceptor phase.
