Spectral quality is an important factor for in vitro development of explants in a bioreactor system. Based on the need to optimize micropropagation for × clones, the aim of the study was to assess the spectral quality of in vitro multiplication in temporary immersion bioreactor (TIB). The tissue used to generate the explants (i.e., the nodal segment with 1 cm of length and two axillary bud without leaves) was previously in vitro established and multiplied it derived from ministumps of × clone grown in a semi-hydroponic system. The spectral quality of in vitro multiplication was assessed through five light sources (i.e., fluorescent lamp, red, green, blue, and yellow cellophane). Morphological and anatomical features of tissues grown in TIB were evaluated at 90 days. Based on the results, yellow and blue spectral qualities were the most suitable to be adopted for in vitro multiplication of × , since they enabled lesser hyperhydricity, favors high number of shoots per explant and shoot length, as well as thicker mesophyll and spongy parenchyma; arise as an alternative for large-scale production of eucalypts clonal plants.

Rationale And Objectives: To evaluate and compare image quality of different energy levels of virtual monochromatic images (VMIs) using standard versus strong deep learning spectral reconstruction (DLSR) on dual-energy CT pulmonary angiogram (DECT-PA).
Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 70 patients who underwent DECT-PA (15 PE present; 55 PE absent) scans. VMIs were reconstructed at different energy levels ranging from 35 to 200 keV using standard and strong levels with deep learning spectral reconstruction.

Gamma-ray coded-aperture imaging technology has important applications in the fields of nuclear security, isolated source detection, and the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. However, artifacts can reduce the quality of reconstructed images and affect the identification of the intensity and location of radioactive sources. In this paper, a gamma-ray coded-aperture imaging method based on primitive and reversed coded functions (PRCF) was proposed to reduce imaging artifacts.

Objectives: Phosphorus-31 magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (P-MRSI) is a non-invasive tool for assessing cellular high-energy metabolism in-vivo. However, its acquisition suffers from a low sensitivity, which necessitates large voxel sizes or multiple averages to achieve an acceptable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), resulting in long scan times.
Materials And Methods: To overcome these limitations, we propose an acquisition and reconstruction scheme for FID-MRSI sequences.

The introduction of benchtop NMR instruments has made NMR spectroscopy a more accessible, affordable option for research and industry, but the lower spectral resolution and SNR of a signal acquired on low magnetic field spectrometers may complicate the quantitative analysis of spectra. In this work, we compare the performance of multiple neural network architectures in the task of converting simulated 100 MHz NMR spectra to 400 MHz with the goal of improving the quality of the low-field spectra for analyte quantification. Multi-layered perceptron networks are also used to directly quantify metabolites in simulated 100 and 400 MHz spectra for comparison.

To rapidly acquire fiber phenotypic data for wood quality assessment, we used a portable NIR spectro-meter to collect spectral data in 100 individuals of at 18-year-old of 20 different provenances, and simultaneously collected wood cores. Wood basic density and the anatomical structure of wood fiber were measured. The standard normal variate (SNV), orthogonal signal correction (OSC), and multiplicative scatter correction (MSC) methods were used for spectral preprocessing, the competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS) method were used for wavelength selection, and the partial least squares regression (PLSR) model were established.
