Childbirth is a dynamic process involving mutual adaptation between the maternal pelvis and the presenting fetal part. The ability of the pelvis to maintain optimal mobility during labor plays a crucial role in achieving favorable obstetric outcomes. The pubic arch angle (PAA) increases amplitude during pregnancy, showing pelvic tissue adjustment.

Background: Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) is the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide. Accurate diagnosis of PPH can prevent adverse outcomes by enabling early treatment.
Objectives: What is the accuracy of methods (index tests) for diagnosing primary PPH (blood loss ≥ 500 mL in the first 24 hours after birth) and severe primary PPH (blood loss ≥ 1000 mL in the first 24 hours after birth) (target conditions) in women giving birth vaginally (participants) compared to weighed blood loss measurement or other objective measurements of blood loss (reference standards)?

The impact of assisted calving, retained fetal membranes (RFM) and calf sex on milk production in small-scale dairy systems remains unknown. This study evaluated their impact on early lactation milk production and standardized 305-day yield (305MY) using 279 lactation records from 23 farms over 18 months. Variables analyzed included assisted calving, RFM, calf sex, and lactation number, with milk production at 30 days and 305MY as response variables.

Amniotic fluid assessment is crucial in prenatal ultrasound to monitor fetal conditions, with polyhydramnios, characterized by excessive amniotic fluid, affecting 1%-2% of pregnancies. Polyhydramnios is linked to complications such as placental abruption, preterm labor, congenital anomalies, and postpartum hemorrhage, emphasizing the need for early detection and management. While idiopathic causes account for 60%-70% of cases, other causes include impaired fetal swallowing and increased urine production due to maternal, fetal, and placental conditions.

Th/Th polarisation and suppressor of cytokine signalling-3 (SOCS3) are important indicators of the humoral and cellular immune system activity in cows. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation of postpartum diseases with the levels of Th/Th polarisation and SOCS3 at the time of parturition. The study examined 180 cows (90 with normal parturition [NP] and 90 with dystocia [D]).
