Myocardial bridging is a frequent anomaly of the heart in humans and other animals. A myocardial bridge is typically characterized by the systolic narrowing seen with traditional catheter angiography, but this abnormality is not by itself a sign of ischemia or the need for intervention. In particular, transient spontaneous angina must be corroborated by reproducible narrowing during acetylcholine testing; this narrowing occurs during resting conditions and is responsive to nitroglycerin administration.

Humboldt squid (Dosidicus gigas) is the most abundant cephalopod in the fishing industry, and its high nutritional and organoleptic properties make it a go-to food product for consumers. Therefore, developing new processing techniques seems imperative to minimize quality deterioration and provide products with appropriate characteristics. The study aimed to determine the effect of high-pressure impregnation (HPI) pretreatment on hot air-drying kinetics and the quality of Humboldt squid slices.

Ultrasensitive Flexible NO Sensors with Remote-Controllable ADC-Electropolymerized Conducting Polymers on Plastic.

ACS Nano

January 2025

SKKU Advanced Institute of Nanotechnology (SAINT) and Department of Nano Science and Technology, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon 16419, Republic of Korea.

Alternating- and direct-current (ADC) bipolar electropolymerization (EP) offers an efficient and scalable approach for the lateral synthesis of conjugated macromolecules, enabling the simultaneous polymerization and deposition of large conducting polymer films with intriguing fractal-like ramified topographies onto arbitrary insulating substrates under remote control. In this study, we presented the remote synthesis of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT):anion sensing films on a plastic substrate, aimed at their use in flexible nitrogen dioxide (NO) gas sensors. Notably, the PEDOT:ClO films exhibited excellent gas-sensing characteristics, with a sensitivity of 54.

Objective: As radiocephalic fistula is not necessarily appropriate for all patients with advanced kidney disease, our aim was to investigate the sensitive indicators that affect the functional primary patency of radiocephalic fistulas.

Methods: This prospective observational study included consecutive patients referred to the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University for initial creation of radiocephalic fistula from July 2017 to December 2019. Preoperative ultrasound parameters, demographic characteristics, serum indicators and comorbidities were recorded.

Wound Care in Venous Disease and Lymphedema.

Nurs Clin North Am

March 2025

Lizzie Wounds, 107 Meadowcrest Lane, Douglassville, PA 19518, USA.

The circulatory and lymphatic systems play vital roles at the capillary level and throughout our bodies. Venous disease can lead to water-rich edema which this fluid is removed by an intact lymphatic system. However, if the lymphatic system is constantly tasked with removing edema, it can becomes damaged over time.
