This study explores reductions in the availability and utilization of health, mental health, and social services to 144 of California's sheltered care facilities between 1973 and 1985. Results show sheltered care facilities were insulated from reductions in availability and utilization of services. While utilization in 1973 was not associated with the availability of mental health agency-based services in 1985, it was significantly associated with reductions in outreach services involving facility visits by agency-based personnel. The degree of disability of residents in a facility had little association with the availability of services across time.

Introduction: More than half of diabetes patients are Asians, and their tolerance to antidiabetic drugs may differ from that of non-Asians. Oral semaglutide has recently gained attention for its advantages in glycemic and body weight control. However, its effects across different ethnic groups remain unknown.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the performance of an innovative multicomponent compression system in a single bandage (UrgoK1, Laboratoires Urgo, France) in the treatment of patients with venous leg ulcers (VLUs) and/or lower limb oedema in everyday practice.
Method: A prospective, observational, clinical study with the evaluated compression system was conducted in 39 centres in Germany between March 2022 and July 2023. Main outcomes included a description of the treated patients, changes in wound healing and oedema progression, local tolerance and acceptability of the compression system.
Stroke is a leading cause of disability among adults, and any treatment that improves functional outcome, like higher intensity of rehabilitation therapy, can significantly reduce its financial burden. Clinicians on a stroke rehabilitation ward are expected to track and nationally report on rehabilitation time to contribute to the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP), a process that was manual, paper-based, time-consuming and redundant, which in turn impacted on a reduction in clinical time to provide stroke rehabilitation. We aimed to release 20% of clinical time by reducing inefficiencies within their time management and reporting process, ensuring that clinicians had more time available for direct patient care.

Diabetes is associated with increased atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk, a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Disordered lipid metabolism is a major contributor to ASCVD risk in diabetes. Dyslipidemia in type 2 diabetes is characterized by hypertriglyceridemia, low HDL cholesterol and the presence of small, dense LDL particles.

Background: The recent Movement Disorders Society (MDS)-progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) diagnostic criteria conceptualized three clinical diagnostic certainty levels: "suggestive of PSP" for sensitive early diagnosis based on subtle clinical signs, "possible PSP" balancing sensitivity and specificity, and "probable PSP" highly specific for PSP pathology.
Objective: The aim of this study was to prospectively validate the criteria against long-term clinical follow-up and characterize the diagnostic certainty increase over time.
Methods: Patients with "possible PSP" or "suggestive of PSP" diagnosis and clinical follow-up were recruited in two German multicenter longitudinal observational studies (ProPSP and DescribePSP).
