The hybrid of organic conducting polymers and inorganic materials with ultralow thermal conductivity, which is a promising strategy for the realization of polymer based effective thermoelectric (TE) applications. In this work, ultrathin layered molybdenum disulphide (MoS) nanosheets/PANI nanocomposites are prepared by hydrothermal route. The effect of varying PANI wt% in the nanocomposites and its interface effect on thermoelectric properties are well investigated. The successful incorporation of PANI between the MoS layers confirmed by high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). The significantly enhanced potential difference of MoS/ PANI nanocomposites with increasing PANI content is well clarified by the increased Seebeck value. The variable range hopping property is identified and conductivity is raised up highly due to insertion of PANI in layered van der Waal's gap of MoS. The effective interface facilitates charge for fast transport. The reduced thermal conductivity is observed of about 0.248 W*mK for 2.5 wt% addition of PANI. The key factor is that the stability of the sample is improved for MoS/ PANI nanocomposites than pristine MoS. Our work paved a new approach to improve TE performance by preparing TE MoS material through simple chemical route.

HfO-based thin films have garnered significant interest for integrating robust ferroelectricity into next-generation memory and logic chips, owing to their applicability with modern Si device technology. While numerous studies have focused on enhancing ferroelectric properties and understanding their fundamentals, the fabrication of ultrathin HfO-based ferroelectric films has seldom been reported. This study presents the concept of atomic-level stoichiometry control of ferroelectric HfZrO films by examining the molecular-level interactions of precursor molecules in the atomic layer deposition (ALD) process through theoretical calculations.

Photodetectors based on lead halide perovskites often show excellent performance but poor stability. Herein, we demonstrate a photodetector based on MAPbBr single crystals passivated with an ultrathin layer of PbSO, which shows superior detectivity and on/off ratios compared to the control device due to the combined effect of lower surface traps, reduced recombination and low dark current. In addition, the device retained ∼56% of its initial * with an impressive on/off ratio of ∼801 after one year compared to ∼22% of * and an on/off ratio of ∼6 of the control device.

The discovery of ferroelectric phases in HfO-based films has reignited interest in ferroelectrics and their application in resistive switching (RS) devices. This study investigates the pivotal role of electrodes in facilitating the Schottky-to-Ohmic transition (SOT) observed in devices consisting of ultrathin epitaxial ferroelectric HfYO (YHO) films deposited on LaSrMnO-buffered Nb-doped SrTiO (NbSTO|LSMO) with Ti|Au top electrodes. These findings indicate combined filamentary RS and ferroelectric switching occurs in devices with designed electrodes, having an ON/OFF ratio of over 100 during about 10 cycles.

Developing a two-dimensional (2D) ultrathin metal-organic framework plays a significant role in energy conversion and storage systems. This work introduced a facile strategy for engineering ultrathin NiMn-MOF nanosheets on Ni foam (NF) via in situ conversion from NiMn-layered double hydroxide (LDH). The as-synthesized LDH-derived NiMn-MOF (LDH-D NiMn-MOF) nanosheet exhibited an overpotential of 350 mV to drive a current density of 100 mA cm during oxygen evolution reaction (OER) owing to its better redox activity, hierarchical architecture, and intercalating ability.
