Published: September 2021

Background: In the cavum segment the internal carotid artery has more susceptibility formation of aneurysms. The Solitaire™ AB stent is a scaffold that do flow blood diversion and promotes the aneurysms exclusion by thrombosis.

Case Report: 63 year old female present pulsatile headache, diplopia, III left cranial nerve paresis and carried a cavum carotid saccular aneurysms of the left carotid artery. By endovascular procedure, we placed a Solitaire™ AB stent. She recovered the III left cranial nerve function in to 2 month and we observed exclusion of the aneurysms by DynaCT in 3 months.

Conclusion: The reconstruction of an artery by endovascular therapy is an alternative treatment for no ruptured paraclinoid aneurysms.

The optimal endovascular management of cervical carotid dissection causing tandem occlusion remains uncertain. We investigated the impact of emergent carotid stenting during endovascular treatment (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in patients with tandem occlusion secondary to cervical carotid artery dissection. This was a secondary analysis of patients treated with EVT for AIS due to occlusive carotid artery dissection and tandem occlusion included in the retrospective international Antithrombotic Treatment for Stroke Prevention in Cervical Artery Dissection (STOP-CAD) study.

We describe a 12-year-old boy with agenesis of the intrahepatic segment of the inferior vena cava (a rare congenital anomaly) in whom an electrified coronary guidewire with electrocautery was used percutaneously to perforate and open the atretic segment, followed by stent implantation. This technique may be a safe and feasible option for paediatric patients, offering a therapeutic alternative for complex cardiac anatomies.

Hydrophilic coating embolism (HCE) is a rare and underreported complication in neurointerventional practice that can lead to serious medical consequences. Two endovascular procedures were interrupted at our institution after a cloudy liquid content was observed inside the rotating hemostatic valves (RHV) during microcatheter withdrawal. In both cases, the same type of microcatheter (Prowler Select Plus) and RHV (Merit) were being used, and coating dislodgement was suspected.

Safety analysis of brachial artery sheath removal after heparin reversal with a half dose of protamine after percutaneous coronary intervention: a single-center experience.

Front Cardiovasc Med

January 2025

Department of Cardiology, National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, China.

Aim: To evaluate the safety of brachial artery (BA) sheath removal after heparin neutralization with a half dose of protamine immediately after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Methods: The clinical data of 209 consecutive patients who underwent PCI through the BA at Fu Wai Hospital between September 2019 and June 2024 were retrospectively collected. In group I, the brachial sheath was removed 4 h after the PCI procedure.
