Data on outcomes of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) are limited in patients with pulmonary atresia intact ventricular septum (PAIVS). The objective of this study was to describe the use of ECMO and the associated outcomes in patients with PAIVS. We retrospectively reviewed neonates with PAIVS who received ECMO between 2009 and 2019 in 19 US hospitals affiliated with the Collaborative Research for the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (CoRe-PCICS).

Background: Therapeutic drug monitoring-informed teicoplanin dosage adjustments are recommended for safe and effective use. The authors' group previously reported that only half of children reached the recommended blood concentration range at the standard teicoplanin loading dose. It has been suggested that higher loading doses are necessary; however, the usefulness and safety of high-dose loading in pediatric patients in clinical practice are unknown.

Background: The United States Food and Drug Administration approved 6 atypical antipsychotics for pediatric treatment of schizophrenia. However, little has been published on the effectiveness of these medications in the acute treatment setting of adolescents with psychosis. Since the clinical uncertainty and poor prognosis proceeding the early onset of schizophrenia has a significant impact on a child's development, there is a critical need for evidence-based data on this population.
