is a frequent bacterial pathogen of the human respiratory tract causing pneumonia, meningitis and sepsis, a serious healthcare burden in all age groups. lacks complete respiratory chain and relies on carbohydrate fermentation for energy generation. One of the essential components for this includes the mannose phosphotransferase system (Man-PTS), which plays a central role in glucose transport and exhibits a broad specificity for a range of hexoses. Importantly, Man-PTS is involved in the global regulation of gene expression for virulence determinants. We herein report the three-dimensional structure of the EIIA domain of mannose phosphotransferase system (SpEIIA-Man). Our structure shows a dimeric arrangement of EIIA and reveals a detailed molecular description of the active site. Since PTS transporters are exclusively present in microbes and sugar transporters have already been suggested as valid targets for antistreptococcal antibiotics, our work sets foundation for the future development of antimicrobial strategies against .

Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) is a major drug target in immune cells. The membrane-binding pleckstrin homology and tec homology (PH-TH) domains of BTK are required for signaling. Dimerization of the PH-TH module strongly stimulates the kinase activity of BTK in vitro.

Thyroid cancer (THCA) is an increasingly common malignant tumor of the endocrine system, with its incidence rising steadily in recent years. For patients who experience recurrence or metastasis, treatment options are relatively limited, and the prognosis is poor. Therefore, exploring new therapeutic strategies has become particularly urgent.

A self-powered dual-electrode aptasensor was developed for the detection of tumor marker carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). The composite BiVO/ZnInS, which is capable of forming a Z-scheme heterojunction, was chosen as the photoanode, and the AuNP/CuBiO complex was chosen as the photocathode in photoelectrochemical (PEC) detection. The experiments showed that the constructed self-powered dual-electrode system had a good photoelectric response to white light, and the photocurrent signal of the photocathode was significantly enhanced under the influence of the photoanode.

The TSC complex formed by TSC1 and TSC2 is the most important upstream negative regulator of mTORC1. Genetic variations in either TSC1 or TSC2 cause tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) disease which is a rare autosomal dominant disorder resulting in impairment of multiple organ systems. In this study, besides a reported variation, c.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is an X-linked recessive disorder caused by mutations of the dystrophin gene, which spans 2.4 Mb on the X chromosome. Creatine kinase (CK) activity in blood and titin fragment levels in urine have been identified as biomarkers in DMD to monitor disease progression and evaluate therapeutic intervention.
