This article explores the challenges facing injured migrant farm workers in the workers compensation system in Canada's province of Ontario, with a focus on their fight for return to work justice. Told from the perspective of one of the lawyers who represented the workers, it highlights a recent victory achieved by 4 workers in the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program in defending their rights to workers' compensation support. The workers' compensation tribunal decided that the workers' compensation board must evaluate these workers ability to return to work, access retraining, and receive compensation based on their labor markets in Jamaica-instead of based on fictional job prospects in Ontario.

This short review addresses the pressing issue of lung cancer among firefighters, a population facing unique occupational hazards such as smoke inhalation and asbestos exposure. With lung cancer being a leading global cause of death, the study emphasizes the disproportionate burden on firefighters. Notably, wildfire smoke, containing carcinogenic elements, poses a rising significant threat to firefighters' respiratory health.

Without widely available vaccines, mosquito control is the primary tool for fighting the spread of these viruses. New mosquito control technologies are needed to complement existing methods, given current challenges with scalability, acceptability, and effectiveness.

In the global effort to discover or design new effective antibiotics to fight infectious diseases, the increasingly available multi-omics data with novel bioinformatics tools open up new horizons for the exploration of the genetic potential of bacteria to synthesize bioactive secondary metabolites. Rare actinomycetes are a prolific source of structurally diverse secondary metabolites that exhibit remarkable clinical and industrial importance. Recently several excellent genome mining tools have been available for identifying biosynthetic gene clusters, however in cases of poor-quality sequences and inappropriate genome assembly, these tools are not always able to identify the corresponding gene clusters.
