The present study reports nonlinear optical properties such as the first and second hyper polarizabilities (β and γ) of Y-shaped polymer (P1) and substituted polymers. The basic Y-shaped polymer (R = R = H) was named as P1. Upon substitution of one OCH group in ortho position of oxygen, it becomes polymer P2 (R1 = H, R = OCH3) and other OCH group on another ortho becomes P3 (R1 = R = OCH3). We have also reported structural parameters, vibrational and electronic absorption spectra of polymer, and its substituted polymers. The geometrical parameters such as dipole moment, bond length, and angles are reported at B3LYP/6-311++g** level of theory. In addition, the vibrational, electronic absorption spectra and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties are also reported at the same level of theory. There is a significant change in dipole moment and in energy observed whereas symmetry, bond length, and angles are resembling Y-shaped and substituted polymer. The vibrational spectra of Y-shaped polymer (P1) having the intense peak are C-H stretching mode observed at 1258 cm. These theoretical vibrational modes are well matching with available experimental determinations. The method dependent hyperpolarizabilities calculated by applying the field along the X, Y, and Z direction. This study confirms the polymer P1 and P2 showing first and second hyperpolarizability response whereas P3 do not show. The electronic absorption spectra for polymer and substituted polymers are also reported at the same level of theory using (TDDFT) approach. The wavelength of electronic transition, oscillator strength, and HOMO-LUMO gap was also reported.

Atherosclerosis-induced lethal cardiovascular disease remains a severe healthcare threat due to the limited drug efficiency and untimely prediction of high-risk events caused by inadequate target specificity of medications, incapable recognition of insensitive patients, and variable morphology of vulnerable plaques. Therefore, it is necessary to develop efficient strategies to improve the diagnosis accuracy and achieve visualized treatment of atherosclerosis. Herein, we establish an inflamed endothelium-targeted three-in-one nucleic acid nanogel system that can reverse the inflammatory state of endothelial cells (ECs) in plaques and simultaneously achieve real-time monitoring of the therapy process for efficient atherosclerosis diagnosis and treatment.

For the first time acceptor-π-donor-π-acceptor (A-π-D-π-A) based Y-type organic electrode material have been designed and successfully utilized in supercapacitor (SC) application. This Y-type molecular architecture coined as AQ-Im-PTZ-Im-AQ based on anthraquinone (AQ) (A)-imidazole (Im) (π)-phenothiazine (PTZ) (D)-imidazole (Im) (π)-anthraquinone (AQ) (A) in combination with graphite foil (GF). As-fabricated PTZ-Im-AQ/GF and AQ-Im-PTZ-Im-AQ/GF electrode have shown the good energy storage properties in three-electrode supercapacitor system.

Staphylococcus aureus (SA) poses a serious risk to human and animal health, necessitating a low-cost and high-performance analytical platform for point-of-care diagnostics. Cellulose paper-based field-effect transistors (FETs) with RNA-cleaving DNAzymes (RCDs) can fulfill the low-cost requirements, however, its high hydrophilicity and lipophilicity hinder biochemical modification and result in low sensitivity, poor mechanical stability and poor fouling performance. Herein, we proposed a controllable self-cleaning FET to simplify biochemical modification and improve mechanical stability and antifouling performance.

Heavy metal ion pollution poses significant risks to human health and ecological systems, and its monitoring is important. A sensitive and accurate surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) detection assay for Hg was developed using Au@Ag/COF substrates and Y-shaped DNA labeled with two Raman reporters. The Au@Ag NPs in the COF produced robust and uniform E-fields, improving their detection reproducibility.

Objectives: The objective of this single-use, five-treatment, five-period, cross-over randomized controlled trial (RCT) was to compare the efficacy in dental plaque removal of a new Y-shaped automatic electric toothbrush (Y-brush) compared to a U-shaped automatic electric toothbrush (U-brush), a manual toothbrushing procedure (for 45 and 120 s), and no brushing (negative control).
Materials And Methods: Eligible participants were volunteer students randomized to the treatments in the five periods of the study. The primary outcome measure was the reduction in full-mouth plaque score (FMPS) after brushing while the secondary outcome variable was a visual analogic scale (VAS) on subjective clean mouth sensation.
