Background: Many European countries' epidemiological data on burns were analyzed. This research aimed to analyze the key epidemiological characteristics of hospitalized burn patients in Serbia's major burn unit over 10 years, as well as to create the very first national epidemiological dataset with the basic requirements for future epidemiological studies.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted, and demographic, clinical, and burn characteristics, as well as predictors of mortality, were analyzed.

: Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) and Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) are rare yet life-threatening dermatologic conditions characterized by severe skin and mucous membrane involvement. Accurate prognostic systems are crucial for clinical management to assess disease severity and predict outcomes. The primary objective of this study was to assess the epidemiological characteristics and clinical outcomes of patients with Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and SJS/TEN overlap over a 17-year period at a specialized burn center.

Background: Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) has been postulated as a useful inflammatory biomarker in the prediction of complications in different pediatric diseases. Our aim is to analyze the predictive value of NLR in the development of complications in burned children, both in the short-term (need for grafting) and in the long-term (need for surgery of the sequelae).
Methods: A retrospective study was performed on burned patients under 18-years admitted to our Burn Unit between 2015 and 2021.

Carcinogenesis encompasses processes that lead to increased mutation rates, enhanced cellular division (tumour growth), and invasive growth. Colorectal cancer (CRC) carcinogenesis in carriers of pathogenic APC (path_APC) and pathogenic mismatch repair gene (path_MMR) variants is initiated by a second hit affecting the corresponding wild-type allele. In path_APC carriers, second hits result in the development of multiple adenomas, with CRC typically emerging after an additional 20 years.
