Unlabelled: Congenital myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) is a rare entity that can pose a diagnostic challenge, especially if other processes such as prematurity coexist.
Objective: to describe the typical presentation of congenital DM1 and thus increase diagnostic suspicion.
Clinical Case: A 29-week preterm female newborn who required non-invasive mechanical ventilation until 41 weeks postmenstrual age; she presented with apnea requiring manual ventilation with a self-inflating bag and cardiac massage.

Managing rerupture of the triceps brachii tendon after surgical repair is challenging due to poor tissue quality, retraction, and adhesions. This clinical scenario often requires augmentation with native tissue or tendon allografts. Traditional techniques include V-Y advancement, reinforced triceps advancement with double row or suture bridge fixation, and allograft tendon augmentation.

Introduction: Heterotopic ossification of the Achilles tendon (HOTA) is a rare but consequential complication to an inflammatory event, often presenting challenges in diagnosis and management.
Case Report: We report a case of a 42-year-old male with Type II diabetes mellitus, managed with Metformin, who presented with acute pain and swelling in the right ankle following a running activity. Clinical examination revealed tenderness and a visible swelling proximal to the calcaneum attachment of the tendon which was hard in consistency, and a positive Thompson test indicative of a potential Achilles tendon injury.

Background: Reconstruction with vascularized fibula grafts (VFG) after intercalary resection of sarcoma may offer longevity by providing early graft-host union and fracture healing. The ability of the fibula to hypertrophy under mechanical stress, as well as vascularized bone in the area, may also be advantageous, given that soft tissues may be compromised because of resection, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy. VFG with a massive allograft combines the primary mechanical stability of the graft with the biological potential of the vascularized fibula; however, complications and the durability of this combined reconstruction are not well described.
