Introduction: This meta-analysis study assessed the effects of L. and L. in patients with metabolic syndrome.

Methods: Data were analysed through "random-effects meta-regression" performance.

Results: The findings indicated that LDL was 0.68 and 2.92 lower in the L. and L.-treated groups versus the controls. The HDL was 0.71-fold higher in the L.-treated group versus the controls. The total-cholesterol levels were 1.02 and 2.25 folds lower in the L. and L.-treated groups versus the matched control groups. The triglyceride levels were 1.35 and 1.16-fold lower in the L. and L.-treated groups versus the controls. Glucose was 0.96 and 0.54 folds lower in the L. and L.-treated groups versus the control groups, respectively.

Conclusion: L. and L. have beneficial effects in patients with metabolic syndrome.

Article Synopsis
  • Flaxseeds were treated with steaming, roasting, and microwave methods to assess their effects on oil bodies and cyanide content.
  • All heat treatments significantly reduced toxic cyanide levels, with variations in yield rates, nutritional composition, and sensory characteristics.
  • Microwave treatment at 560 W for under 3 minutes proved to be the most effective, yielding oil bodies with better quality, such as higher polyunsaturated fatty acids and lower lipid oxidation.

Background And Hypothesis: Oral urea is being used more commonly to treat hyponatremia, but factors contributing to the correction rate are unknown. We hypothesized that clinically relevant factors can be identified to help guide hyponatremia correction with oral urea.

Methods: Retrospective study in two university hospitals including hospitalized patients with hyponatremia (plasma sodium < 135 mmol/L) treated with oral urea.

Eucalyptus plantations are usually characterized by low biodiversity due to allelopathy effects. Wood vinegar is considered a complex growth regulator that can promote plant growth at low concentrations. However, there is information scarcity about the co-application of eucalypt leaf water extract and wood vinegar on plants.

Plants use a variety of secondary metabolites to defend themselves against herbivore insects. Methyl salicylate (MeSA) is a natural plant-derived compound that has been used as a plant defence elicitor and a herbivore repellent on several crop plants. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of MeSA treatment of subsp.
