Hypercortisolism is a rare endocrine disorder in cats. This report describes the clinicopathological findings and successful management of iatrogenic hypercortisolism in a Persian kitten. The disorder was presumed to be a consequence of prolonged topical application of a lotion containing clobetasol.

Adrenal dysfunction due to over-the-counter (OTC) health supplements containing unlabeled glucocorticoids has been previously reported. Here, we present a case series of 12 patients at an urban safety net medical center evaluated by endocrinology for iatrogenic adrenal dysfunction, Cushing syndrome (CS) and/or adrenal insufficiency (AI), associated with use of OTC arthritis supplements surreptitiously containing glucocorticoids. Background: Long-term use of oral or parenteral corticosteroids is the most common cause of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression and iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome. Still, iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome occurs rarely following the administration of topical corticosteroids.
Case Presentation: This case study discusses the misuse of a high-potency corticosteroid cream by an Iranian 5-year-old male with plaque-form psoriasis, resulting in Cushingoid symptoms including moon face, buffalo hump, red striae, and weight gain.
