This study investigated deregulation of lncRNAs and their associations with clinical parameters in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). LncRNAs were quantified from peripheral blood mono-nuclear cells (PBMCs) and plasma of 82 RA patients with 15 matched controls and from knee fluid of 24 RA patients with ten osteoarthritis controls. Multivariate analyses were performed among lncRNAs and clinical parameters of RA. were increased in PBMCs, plasma, synovial fluid (p < 0.05) of RA patients. Significant correlations were observed for with TJC (r = 0.29), with TJC (r = 0.49), swollen joint count (r = 0.20), DAS28-CRP (r = 0.29). Multivariate analysis revealed that 48.5% of TJC and 31.5% of swollen joint count could be predicted by lncRNAs. The findings suggested that the lncRNAs might be explored as probable markers in monitoring disease activity.

is a vital zoonotic pathogen known for its extensive drug resistance and ability to form biofilms, which contribute to its antibiotic resistance. In this study, the phage vB_C4, specifically targeting , was isolated and subjected to bioinformatic analysis and bacteriostatic activity assays. The combination of phage vB_C4 with antibiotics such as cephalothin and cefoxitin, which target the bacterial cell wall, resulted in a significantly enhanced bacteriostatic effect compared to either the phage or antibiotics alone.

Estrogen significantly impacts women's health, and postmenopausal hypertension is a common issue characterized by blood pressure fluctuations. Current control strategies for this condition are limited in efficacy, necessitating further research into the underlying mechanisms. Although metabolomics has been applied to study various diseases, its use in understanding postmenopausal hypertension is scarce.

Introduction: Neurogenic bladder dysfunction is a prevalent condition characterized by impaired bladder control resulting from neurological conditions, for example, spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury (TBI). Detrusor overactivity is a typical symptom of central nervous system damage. A lesion affecting the pontine neural network typically results in loss of tonic inhibition exerted by the pontine micturition center and causes involuntary detrusor contractions.

Background: Joubert syndrome (JS) is an autosomal recessive disorder with a distinctive mid-hindbrain malformation known as the "molar tooth sign" which involves the breathing control center and its connections with other structures. Literature has reported significant respiratory abnormalities which included hyperpnea interspersed with apneic episodes during wakefulness. Larger-scale studies looking at polysomnographic findings or subjective reports of sleep problems in this population have not yet been published.
