Cardiac pseudoaneurysm is uncommon among young adults with trauma. Infection, prior cardiac procedure, or cardiac operations are the most common reported causes. Right atrial pseudoaneurysm (RAPA) is extremely rare. Although often challenging to diagnose, advances in noninvasive imaging have improved the ability to diagnose cardiac pseudoaneurysms. We present a case of RAPA, highlighting the diagnostic accuracy of echocardiography in this rare entity.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares outcomes of left atrial appendage closure combined with catheter ablation (LAACCA) vs. catheter ablation alone in patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure.
  • Results show that LAACCA leads to longer hospital stays, higher mortality rates, and increased hospitalization costs compared to catheter ablation alone.
  • Post-procedure complications were also more common in the LAACCA group, including higher rates of myocardial ischemia and complete atrioventricular block.

Background: Secundum Atrial Septal Defects (ASDs) are the most common type of atrial septal defects. Today, using different types of occluders, transcatheter closure is widely used to treat ASD and has replaced the surgical procedure in anatomically suitable patients. This study was performed to evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of treatment of adult patients requiring an ASD device closure referred to Shahid Chamran Cardiovascular Center in Isfahan, Iran.

Aortic dissection (AD) is a life-threatening emergency involving a tear in the aortic intima, leading to a false lumen. Atrial fibrillation (AF) can complicate AD, increasing management challenges and mortality risks. We report a 67-year-old male with no known past medical history who presented with a 1-day history of abdominal pain.

We present a case of a 78-year old female who developed a pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysms causing hemoptysis after undergoing endovascular placement of a left atrial appendage occlusion device. The pulmonary arery pseudoaneurysm was treated with coil embolization.
