Embryo transfer in cattle is a key issue requiring in vivo production of several mature follicles as opposed to the normal production of only one. In vivo produced embryos can then be transferred to recipient cows for gestation to occur. To obtain a large number of transferable embryos, the superovulation step is crucial. To allow the growth of ovarian follicles, the most commonly used protocol consists of 2 intramuscular injections per day over 4 days of a saline solution of the follicle-stimulating hormone. To reduce workload, technical errors in the injected dose and animal stress, different strategies have been investigated to sustain the release of this hormone over 4 days in 1 or 2 injections. This review introduces the physicochemical properties of the follicle-stimulating hormone and discusses the limitations of marketed products and all the research that has been conducted to overcome these limitations. In particular, the field of subcutaneous administrations, the development of new formulations such as viscous solutions, implants and microspheres and the modification of the structure of the follicle-stimulating hormone are overviewed and discussed.

Nutritional intake is closely linked to gonadal development, although the mechanisms by which food intake affects gonadal development are not fully understood. Cholecystokinin (CCK) is a satiety neuropeptide derived from the hypothalamus, and the present study observed that hypothalamic CCK expression is significantly influenced by food intake, which is mediated through blood glucose levels. Interestingly, CCK and its receptors were observed to exhibit a high expression in the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad (HPG) axis of grass carp (), suggesting that CCK is potentially involved in regulating fish reproduction through the HPG axis.

Context: The timing of a woman's final menstrual period (FMP) in relation to her age is considered a valuable indicator of overall health, being associated with cardiovascular, bone health, reproductive, and general mortality outcomes.
Objective: This work aimed to evaluate the relationship between hormones and the "time to FMP" when daily hormone trajectories are characterized by their 1) entropy, and 2) deviation from premenopausal/stable cycle patterns (representing a textbook "gold standard"; GS).
Methods: As part of the Study of Women's Health Across the Nation, urinary luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), estrogen conjugates (E1C), and pregnanediol glucuronide (PDG) were measured daily from a multiracial sample of 549 mid-life women for the duration of one menstrual cycle.

Objectives: Kisspeptin plays a major role in the onset of puberty by stimulating the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons. The aim of this study was to investigate whether GnRH inhibits kisspeptin secretion via a negative feedback mechanism and potential associations between kisspeptin levels and other hormones of importance for pubertal onset.
Methods: Thirteen girls with suspected central precocious puberty underwent a GnRH stimulation test twice in a randomized, placebo-controlled manner.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of hysterectomy for benign uterine tumors on subsequent ovarian reserve, sexual function, and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).
Methods: The present study was a prospective longitudinal analysis that recruited patients aged 35-45 years who underwent simple hysterectomy without oophorectomy for symptomatic benign uterine tumors. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and serum sex hormone profiles, including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol, progesterone, and total testosterone, were measured at four timepoints: before hysterectomy, and 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively.

Introduction: Infertility is a very discussed problem in many endocrinological and gynecological courses and congresses. In a rapidly revolving environment women tend to postpone pregnancy to have security in their financial life and career. We discuss primary and secondary infertility and the hormonal results in women that presented for a desire to conceive with their partner.
