We show that the effect of the offset phase on the dynamics of the time-delay optoelectronic oscillators that is observed experimentally can be explained in terms of switching between the subcritical and supercritical Hopf bifurcations. The domains of the offset phase for which the system functions are determined analytically. We also show that the width of these domains exceptionally depends on the interplay between the three time scales of the system. Our theoretical results fit with the experimental measurements.

Diblock copolyelectrolytes have significant potential in applications such as solid-state single-ion conductors, but precisely controlling their nanostructures for efficient ion transport remains a challenge. In this study, we explore the phase behavior and microphase transitions of AX BY-type diblock copolyelectrolytes under alternating electric fields using coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations. We systematically investigate the effects of various electric field features, including unipolar and bipolar square-waves, as well as offset and non-offset sine-waves, focusing on how field strength and period influence the self-assembling morphology of the copolyelectrolytes.

2D and 3D porous coordination networks (PCNs) as exemplified by metal-organic frameworks, MOFs, have garnered interest for their potential utility as sorbents for molecular separations and storage. The inherent modularity of PCNs has enabled the development of crystal engineering strategies for systematic fine-tuning of pore size and chemistry in families of related PCNs. The same cannot be said about one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymers, CPs, which are understudied with respect to porosity.

Bisphenol A (BPA, 4,4'-(propane-2,2-diyl)diphenol) is a common plasticizer that is very widespread in the environment and is also found at significant concentrations in the global oceans, due to contamination by plastics. Here we show that triplet sensitization is an important degradation pathway for BPA in natural surface waters, which could prevail if the water dissolved organic carbon is above 2-3 mg L. Bromide levels as per seawater conditions have the potential to slow down BPA photodegradation, a phenomenon that could not be offset by reaction of BPA with Br (second-order reaction rate constant of (2.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a complex hematological malignancy predominantly affecting the elderly, with a median diagnosis age of 68 years. Despite advances in treatment, elderly AML patients face suboptimal survival outcomes, with an estimated 5-year survival rate below 20 %. Epigenetic dysregulation, notably DNA methylation, is a key factor in the progression of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) to AML.

This system utilizes distributed feedback lasers (DFBs) and a carrier recovery algorithm facilitated by a bifunctional frequency-domain pilot tone (FPT). To reduce costs in coherent PON implementations, low-cost DFBs are employed as the sole light sources, replacing the more expensive external cavity lasers (ECLs) at both the optical line terminal (OLT) and the optical network units (ONUs).
