Unlabelled: Chickens are one of the most economically important poultry species, and their egg-laying performance is a crucial economic trait. The intestinal microbiome plays a significant role in the egg-laying performance. To clarify the diversity of chicken intestinal microbiota and its connection to egg-laying performance, this study utilized 16S rRNA sequencing technology to characterize the intestinal microbiomes of 101 chickens from 13 breeds with varying levels of egg production.

This study explores the use of chicken egg white (EW), a rich source of natural proteins, to address challenges in wound healing management. Herein, a novel Zn-infused EW/GelMA (EW/Gel) hybrid hydrogel is developed, featuring an interpenetrating network (IPN) structure, where the first network consists of photo-cross-linked GelMA and the second network consists of Zn-infused EW (Zn-EW) through ion-protein binding. By optimizing the design and formulation, the resulting Zn-EW/Gel hydrogel exhibited enhanced mechanical stability and self-adhesive properties.

The search for new non-animal textile materials has increased yearly as environmental awareness and veganism continue to spread, driving the development of greener fabrics. Concurrently, β-keratin, a fibrous, resistant, and insoluble protein shows great potential for producing innovative biomaterials. However, β-keratin is naturally abundant in animal feathers.

Most poultry farming that has been conducted by smallholders in Thailand are free-range and housing systems, which have risks of parasitic infection from the environment, particularly from tapeworms in the genus Raillietina and trematodes in the family Echinostomatidae. These have become important health problems in the poultry industry, causing low feed conversion ratios and leading to the loss of economic value. Our objective was to develop and validate a molecular technique based on duplex loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) together with lateral flow dipstick (LFD) assay for discriminating the infections between the genus Raillietina (R.

Recycling of protein-rich environmental wastes and obtaining more valuable products from these recycled products is a topic of interest for researchers. This study aims to produce, purify, and characterize the physicochemical and structural properties of the protease enzyme produced from Brevibacillus agri SAR25 using salmon fish waste as substrate and also to evaluate the effect of protease on the chicken feather, enzyme-ligand interactions, and active site surface area. The production of protease was optimum on 50 g/L fish waste, pH 8, 40 °C, 96 h, and 150 rpm.
