Background: Reduction of spontaneous nystagmus by fixation, a characteristic feature of peripheral nystagmus, is important for differentiating between peripheral and central vestibular disorders. In the emergency room, Frenzel goggles are recommended to observe spontaneous nystagmus for the differential diagnosis of acute vestibular syndrome. We developed a portable loupe with a Fresnel lens to observe nystagmus.

Objective: Evaluating the safety risks at unsignalized intersections becomes increasingly complex amid conditions of dense traffic flow, a heterogeneous mix of vehicles, nonadherence to lane demarcations, and reactive driving techniques. Understanding driver behavior under such varying circumstances is crucial for accurately assessing the potential hazards present at these intersections. The study aims to assess the safety of unsignalized intersections by incorporating both spatial and temporal variables under heterogeneous conditions.

Purpose: The Fukuda step test is a valuable tool for identifying vestibular dysfunction in humans. This study evaluated the intra-rater and test-retest reliabilities of videograph observations to determine the diversion time while performing the Fukuda test. This study aimed to determine the use of videographic observation as a beneficial tool for recording real-time assessment procedures in clinical settings.

Background: There is a paucity of data evaluating femoral arterial access training, despite significant morbidity/mortality associated with incorrect femoral arterial access. The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a novel 2-component simulation-based curriculum to address a lack of standardized access training and identify the most frequent errors in access.
Methods: The femoral arterial access curriculum was developed through a multi-disciplinary collaboration and utilized in-person simulation sessions in conjunction with online and in-person didactic training.
