Aims: The aim of this study was to explain the demographic data, comorbidity and laboratory findings of our first cases in COVID-19 pneumonia in our country.
Methods: We gathered the data of COVID-19 pneumonia participants from our electronic medical system, including daily medical knowledge and laboratory, radiological, and microbiological results between March 10 to April 7, 2020.
Results: Totally, 125 patients, whose findings were compatible with COVID-19, were included in the study, 42 patients were excluded from the study. The distribution of genders was, 39 females (46.9 %), 44 males (53.01 %), the average age was 56.36 ± 16.25 (19-85). Hypertension above 60 years of age and diabetes mellitus under 60 years of age were the most common comorbidities. Neutrophils/ Lymphocyte percent(% NLR) was noted in 44 (53.01 %) patients, average: 3 (range 1.78-4.63). There was a statistically significant and positive relationship between D-dimer and C Reactive Protein (CRP) and ferritin.
Conclusion: We detected that comorbidities, which were seen at COVID-19 disease differ according to the patients age. Besides that D-dimer, ferritin and CRP outcomes were particularly high and had a significant correlation with COVID-19 severity (Tab. 3, Fig. 2, Ref. 25). Purpose: Based on the demonstration of a circadian rhythm in the human oral mucosa cell cycle, with most cells in the G2/M phase in the afternoon and at night, the present study evaluated the severity of acute radiation esophagitis and treatment outcomes in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients receiving radiotherapy (RT) in the daytime versus in the evening.
Methods: From the 488 eligible patients of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT), 369 patients received RT in the daytime (before 19:00) and 119 patients received RT in the evening (after 19:00). The grades of radiation esophagitis (Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 5.

Climate classification systems (CCSs) are emerging as essential tools in climate change science for mitigation and adaptation. However, their limitations are often misunderstood by non-specialists. This situation is especially acute when the CCSs are derived from Global Climate Model outputs (GCMs).

Background And Aim: COVID-19 is associated with neurological complications, termed neuro-COVID, affecting patient outcomes. We aimed to evaluate the association between serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) and S100B biomarkers with the presence of neurological manifestations and functional prognosis in COVID-19 patients.
Methods: A multicenter prospective cohort study was conducted in three hospitals in the Emilia-Romagna region, Italy, from March 2020 to April 2022.

Background: Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is a genetic disorder that can cause kidney damage. Shear wave elastography (SWE), a non-invasive method, was used to evaluate the decrease in renal tissue elasticity as a predictive parameter for amyloidosis. This study aimed to examine the changes in renal elasticity in patients with FMF using the renal SWE measurement method.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a pathological manifestation that occurs upon lung injury and subsequence aberrant repair with poor prognosis. However, current treatment is limited and does not distinguish different disease stages. Here, we aimed to study the differential functions of Axl, a receptor tyrosine kinase expressing on both macrophages and fibroblasts, in the whole course of pulmonary fibrosis.
