Background: Amyloid-beta (Aβ) deposition is a key pathological characteristic of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Microglia serves as a crucial system responsible for clearing Aβ. Activated microglia migrate towards Aβ deposits, engulf them, and breakdown Aβ through cathepsins within the lysosome.

Objectives: To explore the mechanism of Granules (QJZG) for improving thrombocytopenia in a mouse model of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Methods: Twenty-four MRL/lpr lupus mice were randomized equally into 4 groups for treatment with daily gavage of saline, QJZG or prednisone (Pred) or intraperitoneal injection (twice a week) of CaMKK2 activator, with 6 C57BL/6 mice with saline gavage as the control group. After 8 weeks of treatment, the mice were examined for PLT, PCT, PDW, MPV, serum levels of TPO, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α and IFN-γ, and calcium ion fluorescence intensity using ELISA or flow-through assay.

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine protein kinase (CASK) interaction protein 1/2 (Caskin1/2) is essential neuronal synaptic scaffold protein in nervous system development. Knockouts of Caskin1/2 display severe deficits in novelty recognition and spatial memory. The tandem sterile alpha motif (SAM) domains of Caskin1/2, also conserved in their Drosophila homolog Ckn, are known to form homopolymers, yet their dynamic regulation mechanism remains unclear.

Chagas disease caused by the obligate intracellular flagellate protozoan infects about 6 million people. From the 1930s to the present, the antitumor capacity of has been studied; however, the identification of the responsible molecules for this effect remains undiscovered. Calcineurin, a calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine/threonine phosphatase, is a heterodimer consisting of a catalytic subunit (CaNA) and a regulatory subunit (CaNB).

AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is an energy-sensing serine/threonine kinase involved in metabolic regulation. It is phosphorylated by the upstream liver kinase B1 (LKB1) or calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase kinase 2 (CaMKKβ). In cultured cells, AMPK activation correlates with LKB1 activity.
