COVID-19 pandemic triggered in many patients the fear to go to the emergency rooms in order to avoid a possible infection. This phenomenon caused a significant reduction in acute coronary syndrome-related interventional procedures with a subsequent increase in critical hospitalizations and post-infarction mechanical complications. A case series of cardiac ruptures during the COVID-19 lockdown and the surgical treatment of a huge post-ischemic cardiac pseudoaneurysm complicated by a "contained" free wall rupture are presented.

Background: C-reactive protein (CRP) is one of the most commonly monitored inflammatory markers in patients with COVID-19 to gain insight into the inflammation level in the body and to adopt effective disease management and therapeutic strategies. COVID-19 is now less prevalent, and the study of CRP as a biomarker of inflammation still needs deeper understanding, particularly in understanding its role among patients with comorbidities, which are known to influence inflammatory responses and increase the risk of severe outcomes during acute and chronic infectious diseases. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association of major comorbidities such as ischemic heart diseases, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and lung infections e.

Although alveolar hyperoxia exacerbates lung injury, clinical studies have failed to demonstrate the beneficial effects of lowering the fraction of inspired oxygen (FO) in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Atelectasis, which is commonly observed in ARDS, not only leads to hypoxemia but also contributes to lung injury through hypoxia-induced alveolar tissue inflammation. Therefore, it is possible that excessively low FO may enhance hypoxia-induced inflammation in atelectasis, and raising FO to an appropriate level may be a reasonable strategy for its mitigation.

A young man presented with complaints of angina on exertion and dyspnoea on exertion for the last 3 months. On evaluation, he was found to have a cystic mass in the left ventricle with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction. A cardiac MRI revealed a multiloculated mass in the left ventricle with multiple septa with internal enhancement and CT coronary angiography revealed compression of a coronary artery by the cystic mass.

Background: Transcatheter closure of percutaneous paravalvular leak (PVL) is a technically challenging procedure, especially after surgical mechanical valve replacements (SMVR), as the risk of interference with the prosthetic valve discs and the complex interventional techniques required for mitral PVL closure. Our study was designed to review the results with transcatheter closure of PVL after SMVR.
Methods: From January 2018 through December 2023, a total of 64 patients with PVL after SMVR underwent transcatheter closure with the help of preoperative 3-dimensional printing model and simulator for image evaluation.

Statement Of Problem: Digital surgical guides improve precision by detailing the direction, position, and angle of implants, which reduces surgery time and complications. A bibliometric analysis of guided surgery in implant dentistry is lacking.
Purpose: The aim of this metrics-based analysis was to analyze the trends and key characteristics of articles related to guided surgery in implant dentistry.
