A rapid and economic integrated solid-phase extraction (ISPE) method with ionic liquid-thiol-graphene oxide composite (IL-TGO) as a new adsorbent was established for the extraction of fipronil in chicken eggs. In this study, ISPE, a new form of solid-phase extraction, which combined the advantages of pipette-tip solid phase extraction (PT-SPE) and dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE), achieving rapid extraction of analyte with only a small amount of adsorbent. The three-dimensional porous IL-TGO was a new ideal adsorbent for fipronil due to the multiple adsorption interactions (π-π interaction, hydrophobic interaction and hydrogen bond), large adsorption capacity and fast adsorption rate. For this ISPE procedure, the analyte was adsorbed by IL-TGO through the pipette tip mode and then eluted through dispersive mode. Under the optimized condition, the proposed method performed following merits: good linearity (r = 0.9999), precision (RSD ≤ 6.3%), high recoveries (83.7% to 97.7%), rapid extraction (16 min), low consumption of adsorbent (3.00 mg of IL-TGO). The excellent recyclability of the ISPE device and the reusability of IL-TGO were observed and high recovery of fipronil (> 90%) was obtained after fifteen cycles. This work might provide promising strategy for the sensitive extraction and analysis of trace levels of fipronil from egg products.

Biochars (BCs) derived from waste-branches of apple tree, grape tree, and oak were developed for direct solid-phase extraction (SPE) of five benzodiazepines (BZDs) in crude urine samples prior to liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) determination. Scanning electron microscopy, elemental analyzer, X-ray diffractometry, N adsorption/desorption experiments, and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry characterizations revealed the existence of their mesoporous structure and numerous oxygen-containing functional groups. The obtained BCs not only possessed high affinity towards BZDs via π-π and hydrogen bond interactions, but also afforded the great biocompatibility of excluding interfering components from undiluted urine samples when using SPE adsorbents.

In order to study the change rule of freshness and acid ions in reconstituted tobacco slurry, the content changes of 17 organic acids and 5 inorganic anions in reconstituted tobacco slurry with different residence times under confined condition were determined by on-line solid-phase extraction ion chromatography in this study. The results showed that the changes of acetic acid, nitrate ion and isovaleric acid in different reconstituted tobacco slurries with oscillation time were regular and consistent, and the trends of the changes of acetic acid, nitrate ion and isovaleric acid in different reconstituted tobacco slurries with oscillation time were correlated with each other in a highly significant way. Taking the evaluation of olfactory aroma and sensory quality qualities of reconstituted tobacco pulps with different residence times as a benchmark, it was found that the variation patterns of nitrate ions and isovaleric acid in reconstituted tobacco pulps with oscillation time were consistent with the variation patterns of olfactory and sensory qualities in the process of closed oscillation; compared with the fresh pulp, the olfactory aroma and sensory qualities of tobacco pulps had unpleasant odours appearing when the content of nitrate ions was reduced by about 48%.
