Background: During the first pandemic lockdown restrictive regulations were implemented in hospitals. Parents of preterm babies were particularly affected due to a long hospital stay. The aim of this study is to investigate how pandemic regulations during the first lockdown impacted the birth and perinatal experiences of parents of preterm babies.

Unlabelled: Although cesarean delivery (CD) has been linked to long-term health risks in singleton infants, the impact of delivery mode on long-term health outcomes in preterm twins remains underexplored. A retrospective cohort study was conducted at a tertiary medical center in Israel from 1991 to 2021, comparing preterm twins vaginally delivered (VD) versus cesarean section, excluding cases with congenital malformations or perinatal deaths. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used to compare the cumulative incidence, and Cox proportional hazards models were applied to adjust for potential confounders.

Background: This study explores the link between a mother's dietary variety score and her prenatal eating patterns, focusing on the potential impact on her health and the likelihood of a low-birth-weight baby.
Methods: Mothers at the Ganga Medical Centre and Hospitals in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, were interviewed to measure bio-social variables, including pre-pregnancy weight, height, BMI, total weight gain, and birth weight. Low birth weight was the main measure of interest.

Increasing number of pregnant women are consuming probiotics to promote their own health and that of their unborn fetus. Such supplements are presumed to be safe for pregnant mothers and their unborn offspring. For pregnant mothers, such bioactive compounds might lower the risk of constipation, diarrhea, other gastrointestinal conditions, pre-term birth, and prevent adverse pregnancy outcomes, including gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and depression/anxiety.
