Ketamine is a racemic compound and medication comprised of ()-ketamine and ()-ketamine enantiomers and its metabolites. It has been used for decades as a dissociative anesthetic, analgesic, and recreational drug. More recently, ketamine, its enantiomers, and its metabolites have been used or are being investigated for the treatment of refractory depression, as well as for comorbid disorders such as anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and opioid use disorders.

Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disease that causes developmental delays, intellectual impairment, constant hunger, obesity, endocrine dysfunction, and various behavioral and neuropsychiatric abnormalities. Standard care of PWS is limited to strict supervision of food intake and growth hormone therapy, highlighting the unmet need for new therapeutic strategies. Environmental enrichment (EE), a housing environment providing physical, social, and cognitive stimulations, exerts broad benefits on mental and physical health.

Early language is shaped by parent-child interactions and has been examined in relation to maternal psychopathology and parenting stress. Minimal work has examined the relation between maternal emotion dysregulation and toddler vocabulary development. This longitudinal study examined associations between maternal emotion dysregulation prenatally, maternal everyday stress at 7 months postpartum, and toddler vocabulary at 18 months.

The Flinders sensitive line (FSL) rat is an accepted rodent model for depression that presents with strong face, construct, and predictive validity, thereby making it suitable to investigate novel antidepressant mechanisms. Despite the translatability of this model, available literature on this model has not been reviewed for more than ten years. The PubMed, ScienceDirect and Web of Science databases were searched for relevant articles between 2013 and 2024, with keywords relating to the Flinders line rat, and all findings relevant to treatment naïve animals, included.
