Chrysanthemum infusion has gained popularity outside of the East Asian market in recent years. However, despite the growing international demand, standardized methods to evaluate the sensory attributes of chrysanthemum tea, which are essential for guiding consumers and ensuring quality control, remain underdeveloped. In this study, a trained panel conducted a quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA®) of eight chrysanthemum samples, successfully distinguishing between them.

Aims/hypothesis: UK standard care for type 2 diabetes is structured diabetes education, with no effects on HbA, small, short-term effects on weight and low uptake. We evaluated whether remotely delivered tailored diabetes education combined with commercial behavioural weight management is cost-effective compared with current standard care in helping people with type 2 diabetes to lower their blood glucose, lose weight, achieve remission and improve cardiovascular risk factors.

AHNAK2: a potential diagnostic biomarker for pancreatic cancer related to cellular motility.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma lacks suitable biomarkers for early diagnosis of disease. In gene panels developed for early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, high AHNAK2 mRNA expression was one possible biomarker. In silico analysis of published human sample datasets (n = 177) and ex vivo analysis of human plasma samples (n = 30 PDAC with matched 30 healthy control) suggested AHNAK2 could be a diagnostic biomarker.

The continuous release of pro-inflammatory cytokines causes muscle atrophy and adipocyte breakdown, ultimately resulting in cachexia. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging as potential biomarkers associated with cachexia, as they indirectly regulate muscle and fat tissue metabolism.
