Purpose: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) has proven valuable in treating locally advanced colon cancer (LACC) and is included as a treatment option for patients with clinical T4b colon cancer by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. However, the long-term survival benefit of NAC in LACC remains debated, due to a lack of conclusive clinical trial results identifying the patients who would benefit most from NAC. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of NAC in patients with LACC based on histological subtype.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. The heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment significantly influences patient prognosis, while the diversity of tumor cells shapes its unique characteristics. A comprehensive analysis of the molecular profile of tumor cells is crucial for identifying novel molecular targets for drug sensitivity analysis and for uncovering the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying CRC.

Gallbladder adenocarcinoma has a high mortality rate, with approximately 1.7% cancer-related deaths worldwide. Cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT), including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), can significantly increase the risk of mortality within cancer patients, especially in pancreatic, brain, and intra-abdominal cancers, as well as in advanced and metastatic cancers.

Background: Early biologic intervention after diagnosis has shown improved clinical and endoscopic outcomes in patients with Crohn's disease (CD), while very little is known about the effectiveness of early versus late administration of Ustekinumab (UST).
Objectives: We aimed to compare early versus late UST use in managing CD and identify potential predictors associated with clinical and endoscopic outcomes.
Design: This was a retrospective observational study.

Clinically, infectious bone defects represent a significant threat, leading to osteonecrosis, severely compromising patient prognosis, and prolonging hospital stays. Thus, there is an urgent need to develop a bone graft substitute that combines broad-spectrum antibacterial efficacy and bone-inductive properties, providing an effective treatment option for infectious bone defects. In this study, the precision of digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing technology was utilized to construct a scaffold, incorporating zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) modified barium titanate (BT) with hydroxyapatite (HA), resulting in a piezoelectric ceramic scaffold designed for the repair of infected bone defects.
