Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 and long COVID can present with nonspecific symptoms resembling adrenal insufficiency. This similarity of symptoms means that adrenal insufficiency hidden among nonspecific manifestations of COVID-19 may pass underrecognized. We present the case of a 53-year-old Japanese man who developed isolated adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) deficiency (IAD) and acute adrenal insufficiency after COVID-19, thus mimicking prolonged symptoms of COVID-19.

Background: Puberty has been historically considered as a time of risk and vulnerability for young people. It is associated with rapid development in the hypothalamus, which is central in the production of both stress and sex steroids. While patterns of stress reactivity are calibrated in early life, this time of rapid development may provide a means for these patterns to change.

Aim: Co-existing primary aldosteronism (PA) and autonomous cortisol secretion (ACS) has been recently recognized as a distinct entity. This study aimed to assess the incidence of ACS in patients with PA, and its impact on clinical and laboratory parameters.

We evaluated the effects of breed and mineral source on heifer performance during periods of nutrient restriction and grazing. On day -7, ½ Angus × ½ Nelore (ANE) and Nelore (NE) heifers (12 heifers per breed; body weight, BW = 264 ± 35 kg; age = 15 ± 1 mo) were assigned to individual drylot pens to receive ad libitum Tifton 85 (Cynodon sp.) hay and white salt for 7 days.

Patients with Turner Syndrome (TS) and those exposed to high concentrations of glucocorticoids have a number of characteristics in common, including an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Pediatric TS patients underwent studies of salivary cortisol (SC) and cortisone (SCn), body composition, continuous glucose monitoring, vascular function, and ambulatory blood pressure (BP). Biochemical indicators of cardiovascular risk were also measured.
