(Danggui, DG) is one of the most commonly prescribed traditional Chinese medicines. The organic components include phthalides and phenolic acids. Meanwhile, inorganic elements play an important role in clinical effect. DG and its different parts have different effects. There is no relevant report on the analysis of organic compounds and inorganic elements among them. Therefore, ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry was developed for the simultaneous determination of 13 organic components (8 phthalides and 5 phenolic acids), and 8 inorganic elements were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The contents of 32 samples were analyzed by orthogonal partial least squares discrimination analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis, and least-significant difference of one-way analysis of variance. The results showed that the differences were significant among DG and its different parts. 11 difference markers (Ca, Z-ligustilide, Mg, Mn, Fe, Na, K, Cu, Zn, coniferyl ferulate, and senkyunolide A) were obtained by variable importance for the project. These difference markers were some different among DG and its different parts, especially Z-ligustilide, coniferyl ferulate, Mg, Zn, the differences were significant. This study can provide a reference for DG research.

Understanding the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) mechanism is pivotal for improving the overall efficiency of water electrolysis. Despite methylammonium lead halide perovskites (MAPbX) have shown promising OER performance due to their soft-lattice nature that allows lattice-oxygen oxidation of active α-PbO layer surface, the role of A-site MA or X-site elements in the electrochemical reconstruction and OER mechanisms has yet to be explored. Here, it is demonstrated that the OER mechanism of perovskite@zeolite composites is intrinsically dominated by the A-site group of lead-halide perovskites, while the type of X-site halogen is crucial for the reconstruction kinetics of the composites.

Aromaticity is one of the most classical concepts in the field of modern chemistry and has been employed to explain and design substances with special stability. Although the knowledge about Hückel's and Baird's rules has been well established, the understanding of Möbius aromaticity remains extremely limited. In this letter, by employing density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we demonstrated that the four-membered VIB transition metal (TM) carbide clusters possess a highly stable open-shell planar tetrameric structure and exhibit double Möbius aromaticity, which was evidenced by analyzing multiple aromaticity criteria, including the electronic, magnetic, and energetic indicators.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Cuttlebone (CB), also known as SEPIAE ENDOCONCHA, is the inner shell of cuttlefish and has been employed in traditional medicine in numerous countries since antiquity. Despite its significant medicinal value, CB is often underestimated and discarded on the beach as debris in some countries, which considerably impacts the environment and economy.

The Aim Of The Review: This study aims to elucidate the value of CB, particularly in the context of its medicinal properties, to promote its rational utilization.

The systematic nucleophilic functionalization of the cationic pentaphosphole ligand complex [Cp*Fe(η4-P5Me)][OTf] (A) with group 16/17 nucleophiles is reported. This method represents a highly reliable and versatile strategy for the design of novel transition-metal complexes featuring twofold substituted end-deck cyclo-P5 ligands, bearing unprecedented hetero-element substituents. By the reaction of A with classical group 16 nucleophiles, complexes of the type [Cp*Fe(η4-P5MeE)] (E = OEt (1), OtBu (2), SPh (3), SePh (4)) are obtained.

This case study of Kongsfjorden, western coastal Svalbard, provides insights on how freshwater runoff from marine- and land-terminating glaciers influences the biogeochemical cycles and distribution patterns of carbon, nutrients, and trace elements in an Arctic fjord system. We collected samples from the water column at stations along the fjord axis and proglacial river catchments, and analyzed concentrations of dissolved trace elements, together with dissolved nutrients, as well as alkalinity and dissolved inorganic carbon. Statistical tools were applied to identify and quantify biogeochemical processes within the fjord that govern the constituent distributions.
