In this study the effect of the application of High Pressure Treatment (HPP) combined with four different manufacturing processes on the inactivation of Listeria innocua, used as a surrogate for L. monocytogenes, in artificially contaminated samples was evaluated in order to verify the most suitable strategy to meet the Listeria inactivation requirements needed for the exportation of dry-cured meat in the U.S. Fresh anatomical cuts intended for production were supplied by four different delicatessen factories located in Northern Italy. Raw meat underwent experimental contamination with using a mixture of 5 strains. Surface contamination of the fresh anatomical cuts was carried out by immersion into inoculum containing spp The conditions of the HPP treatment were: pressure 593 MPa, time 290 seconds, water treatment temperature 14°C. was enumerated on surface and deep samples post contamination, resting, ripening and HPP treatment. The results of this study show how the reduction of the microbial load on during the production process did not vary among three companies (P>0.05) ranging from 3.73 to 4.30 log CFU/g, while it was significantly different (P<0.01) for the fourth company (0.92 log CFU/g). HPP treatment resulted in a significant (P<0.01) deep decrease of count with values ranging between 1.63-3.54 log CFU/g with no significant differences between companies. Regarding superficial contamination, HPP treatment resulted significant (P<0.01) only in Coppa produced by two companies. The results highlight that there were processes less effective to inhibit the pathogen; in particular for company D an increase of L. innocua count was shown during processing and HPP alone cannot be able to in reaching the Listeria inactivation requirements needed for exportation of dry-cured meat in the U.S. According to the data reported in this paper, HPP treatment increases the ability of the manufacturing process of in reducing count with the objective of a lethality treatment.

Optimization of fermentation conditions and blending process of fairy bean in North Anhui Province.

Functional fermentation strains were isolated and screened from traditional fairy beans in northern Anhui. Through technical identification, Bacillus subtilis SXD06 was determined to be the superior fermentation strain, while Wickerhamomyces anomalus YE006 was identified as the optimal aroma-producing yeast. Objectives: This study aims to comparatively assess the preventive and protective effects of the self-assembling peptide P-4 on enamel erosion and evaluate the potential for enamel surface recovery when professional products are combined with home-use dental-care products during the erosive process.

Materials And Methods: Ninety-nine bovine incisors were divided into nine groups: a control group, four groups with the application of professional-products [P-4 peptide (Curodont-Repair), stannous/Sn containing solution (8% Sn), casein-phosphopeptide-amorphous-calcium-phosphate fluoride/CPP-ACPF (MI Varnish), sodium fluoride/NaF (Profluorid)] and four groups with the combination of professional products and home-use daily dental care products [P-4 peptide (Curodont Repair + Curodont Protect), stannous ions containing agents (8% Sn+Emofluor Gel Intensive-Care), CPP-ACPF (MI Varnish + MI Paste Plus), NaF (Profluorid + ReminPro)]. Professional products were applied once before a five-day erosive cycle, involving six 2-minute citric-acid exposures per day.

Road crack detection approaches based on the image processing technique have attracted much attention during the past decade due to their convenience and efficiency, but most of them cannot achieve the expected performances due to the complex background interference and severe category imbalance of road images. This paper presents a hierarchical existential prior based on an expanded pseudo-label for crack detection. In particular, the framework contains three variants of U-Net, and each sub-network is trained by pseudo-labels generated by transforming semantic categories of non-crack pixels distributed in the neighborhoods of crack ones.
