3D functional tissues, such as spheroids fabricated by mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which can mimic parts of tissues and organs, have recently been extensively studied in the fields of regenerative medicine and drug discovery. In this study, spheroids containing endothelial tubular structures are fabricated by use of a novel 3D culture plate, "MicoCell." As MicoCell has a mild cell adhesive surface and multicavity structures, it can provide multiple attached spheroids at the same time (about ≈10 to ≈10 spheroids). Spheroids can be fabricated without using serum, and are easily collected by simple pipetting and no use of enzyme. For the fabrication of spheroids containing endothelial tubular structures, MSCs and endothelial cells are co-cultured with MicoCell. Surprisingly, endothelial tubular structures are found to extend upward from the bottom where the spheroids attach onto, forming a dome-shaped morphology. Notably, some tubular structures in the spheroids have a basement membrane and markedly improved oxygen level of the inner part of spheroids. Moreover, as spheroids attach onto the bottom, they do not require any pre-treatment such as embedding into gel before microscopic observation using an optical clearing reagent. These results indicate that the culture plates will be suitable for clinical and pharmaceutical applications.

It is crucial to develop new tactics to prevent ovarian tissue damage in women whose reproductive toxicity is caused by chemotherapy. The present investigation was performed to assess the protective effects of Moringa oleifera (M. oleifera) leaf extract on cyclophosphamide (CP)-induced ovarian damage and reproductive dysfunction.

Amino acids are the basic structural units of life, and their intake levels affect disease and health. In the case of renal disease, alterations in amino acid metabolism can be used not only as a clinical indicator of renal disease but also as a therapeutic strategy. However, the biological roles and molecular mechanisms of natural chiral amino acids in human proximal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2) remain unclear.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common type of kidney cancer arising from renal tubular epithelial cells and is characterized by a high aggressive behavior and invasiveness that lead to poor prognosis and high mortality rate. Diagnosis of RCC is generally incidental and occurs when the stage is advanced and the disease is already metastatic. The management of RCC is further complicated by an intrinsic resistance of this malignancy to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which aggravates the prognosis.

Background/objectives: 5-aminulevulinic acid (5-ALA)-guided surgery for high-grade gliomas remains a challenge in neuro-oncological surgery. Inconsistent fluorescence visualisation, subjective quantification and false negatives due to blood, haemostatic agents or optical impediments from the external light source are some of the limitations of the present technology.
Methods: The preliminary results from this single-centre retrospective study are presented from the first 35 patients operated upon with the novel Nico Myriad Spectra System©.

This study tested the ISL against renal damage induced by a high-fat diet (HFD) and explored its underlying mechanisms. Adult male rats were assigned to four groups: (1) control on a standard diet (STD), (2) ISL on STD (30 mg/kg), (3) HFD, and (4) HFD + ISL (30 mg/kg). After 12 weeks of dietary intervention, ISL treatment led to significant reductions in body weight gain, visceral fat, and glucose and insulin levels in HFD-fed rats.
