Discovering novel families of molecular polyhedra through graph theory has attracted increasing interest. Nevertheless, the design principles of molecular polyhedra based on graph theory remain elusive, especially for those containing five-node units. Herein, we construct a series of chiral truncated face-rotating polyhedra () from pentagonal pentaphenylpyrrole (PPP) derivatives and chiral diamines. Graph theory is used to elucidate the geometry of these novel , which represent a new family of molecular polyhedra. The phenyl flipping of PPP faces in these is significantly restricted, thus making chiral and strongly emissive in solution. In addition, also generate circularly polarized luminescence. This study provides new insights into the rational design of novel molecular polyhedra through graph theory.

Technetium-99m plays a pivotal role in nuclear medicine, offering unique IMAGING capabilities due to its favorable physical and chemical properties. This study investigates the redox behavior and electronic structures of three representative Tc(V) oxo complexes, [TcO(HMPAO)], [TcO(Bicisate)], and [TcO(DMSA)], using computational techniques. Employing relativistic density functional theory with the Zero-Order Regular Approximation (ZORA), we analyze singlet-triplet energy gaps, Gibbs free energy changes, and redox potentials in neutral and acidic environments.

Background: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is caused by reduced expression of survival motor neuron (SMN) protein. Previous studies indicated SMA causes not only lower motor neuron degeneration but also extensive brain involvement. This study aimed to investigate the changes of brain white matter and structural network using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in children with type 2 and 3 SMA.

Objective: Epilepsy is a common neurological disease affecting nearly 1% of the global population, and temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is the most common type. Patients experience recurrent seizures and chronic cognitive deficits that can impact their quality of life, ability to work, and independence. These cognitive deficits often extend beyond the temporal lobe and are not well understood.

Background/objectives: This research investigates brain connectivity patterns in reaction to social and non-social stimuli within a virtual reality environment, emphasizing their impact on cognitive functions, specifically working memory.

Methods: Employing the LEiDA framework with EEG data from 47 participants, I examined dynamic brain network states elicited by social avatars compared to non-social stick cues during a VR memory task. Through the integration of LEiDA with deep learning and graph theory analyses, unique connectivity patterns associated with cue type were discerned, underscoring the substantial influence of social cues on cognitive processes.
