Outsourcing is a common strategy across the pharmaceutical industry and clinical research. CROs offer many choices for selecting outsourcing partners for bioanalytical and biomarker support. We aimed this paper to provide critical insights into CRO benchmarking and selection using a bioanalytical challenge approach performing fit-for-purpose ligand-binding assay. Bioanalytical challenge (method validation and sample analysis) offer Pharma sponsors a great opportunity to stress test CRO technical and scientific competency, quality systems and operational capabilities. In addition, CROs demonstrated their real-life performance in communication, time management and cost - key contributors to a successful sponsor-CRO partnership. Benchmarking CROs based on objective assay data and real-life experiences will help sponsors to make better-informed decisions in vendor selection.

Activating the lattice oxygen can significantly improve the kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction (OER), however, it often results in reduced stability due to the bulk structure degradation. Here, we develop a spinel FeCoCrO with active lattice oxygen by high-throughput methods, achieving high OER activity and stability, superior to the benchmark IrO. The oxide exhibits an ultralow overpotential (190 mV at 10 mA cm) with outstanding stability for over 170 h at 100 mA cm.

Background: Carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative organism (CRO) infection is a critical clinical disease with high mortality rates. The 30-day mortality rate following antibiotic treatment serves as a benchmark for assessing the quality of care. Colistin sulfate is currently considered the last resort therapy against infections caused by CRO.

Transplant pathology of donors is a highly specialized field comprising both the evaluation of organ donor biopsy for the oncological risk transmission and to guide the organ allocation. Timing is critical in transplant procurement since organs must be recovered as soon as possible to ensure the best possible outcome for the recipient. To all this is added the fact that the evaluation of a donor causes difficulties in many cases and the impact of these assessments is paramount, considering the possible recovery of organs that would have been erroneously discarded or, conversely, the possibly correct discarding of donors with unacceptable risk profiles.

Background: Speed skating is a discipline that involves cyclical and repetitive movements that make athletes susceptible to injuries, especially in the groin. In professional athletes, during a season, it was found that about 20% had overuse injuries with significant consequences during the competitive season due to long recovery times. Currently, new technological tools allow the measurement of multiple parameters and, through a panel of data deriving from various measurements, provide a valuable aid for training and rehabilitative purposes.
