Background/aim: We retrospectively analyzed the locally advanced adenocarcinoma (AC)/adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC) of the uterine cervix treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy using cisplatin plus paclitaxel (TP-CCRT).
Patients And Methods: Thirty patients with stage IB-IVA AC/ASC were treated with whole pelvis external beam radiotherapy. A high-dose-rate intracavitary brachytherapy was delivered once per week at a fractional dose of 6 Gy. For TP-CCRT, the patients received cisplatin and paclitaxel.
Results: A complete response was achieved in 17 patients (77.3%) in the TP-CCRT group and 4 patients (50.0%) in the P-CCRT group. The 5-year OS rate in the TP-CCRT and P-CCRT groups was 74.2% and 25.0% (p=0.0094), the central DFS rate was 58.0% and 12.5% (p=0.0267), and the distant DFS rate was 63.6% and 12.5% (p=0.0042), respectively.
Conclusion: TP-CCRT achieves a considerably better disease control for AC of the cervix, leading to a better OS.

Integrated Care (IC) models have increased, but the current mechanisms to analyze the efficacy and fidelity of behavioral interventions within IC models are limited. A mixed methods concurrent process evaluation was used within the context of a randomized clinical trial to assess intervention fidelity for a Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) intervention implemented within an IC model. A qualitative content analysis was conducted to develop a participant survey and charting template for the SFBT intervention.

Purpose: Bodyweight loss is commonly found in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma patients during Concurrent Chemo-radiotherapy (CCRT) and has implications for treatment decisions. However, the prognostic value of this weight loss remains uncertain. We addressed it by proposing a novel index Weight Censorial Score (WCS) that characterizes the patient-specific CCRT response on actual to estimated weight loss.

Multiple parameters define the treatment course with biologics for a psoriatic patient while treatment switches are often associated with worse prognosis. The purpose of this study was to describe the switching patterns of biologics for psoriasis in the Greek market landscape and to detect associated factors that may impact the evolvement of selected therapy. This is a retrospective cohort study using data recorded in the nationwide digital prescription database of Greece.

Objective: Valproic acid, frequently prescribed for neurological and psychiatric disorders, can cause hyperammonemia (HA). This retrospective study aimed to investigate the association among the basic characteristics, comorbidities, co-medications, and risk of HA in patients receiving valproic acid.
Materials And Methods: We compared groups with and without HA using data collected from the medical records of adults undergoing valproic acid monitoring between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2021.

Introduction: Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) increases the risk of mortality of critically ill patients. Diagnostic criteria specifically targeting patients in intensive care units(ICUs) have been developed to improve diagnostic sensitivity. This study investigated health outcomes among patients in ICUs with Aspergillus isolates identified using bronchoscopy.
