Background: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a severe complication of diabetes mellitus and a leading cause of end-stage renal disease worldwide. Understanding trends in experimental research on DN is crucial for advancing knowledge and clinical management.
Objective: This study aimed to explore current trends in DN related experimental research, utilizing CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix to identify key contributors, influential countries, and noteworthy topics.
Introduction: The lack of peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheters designed explicitly for neonates creates significant challenges in the provision of neonatal peritoneal dialysis. High resource settings can circumvent this limitation by resorting to alternative extracorporeal dialysis methods. However, low resource settings (LRS), PD remains the preferred dialysis modality, and the use of off-label catheters for PD results in complications such as omental wrapping and occlusion.

Unlabelled: Data about the long-term safety and efficacy of stent implantation for central venous stenosis in patients on dialysis are limited. We report the case of a 66-year-old man on hemodialysis for end-stage renal disease who presented with stasis dermatitis around an arteriovenous shunt with ulceration of the left forearm. Computed tomography angiography showed a tight stenosis of the proximal left subclavian vein and the development of collateral blood vessels around the stenosis.

Background: Blood group incompatibility previously represented an obstacle to living related donor (LRD) options; desensitization modalities have expanded LRD options. ABO-incompatible kidney transplants have been successful in adults and pediatric liver transplants, but to date not yet in pediatric kidney transplants in South Africa.
Case Report: Patient X is a 5 year old male with end-stage kidney failure due to Posterior Urethral Valves, requiring peritoneal dialysis pre-transplant.

Various high-efficiency hemodialysis techniques exist, including different online high- volume hemodiafiltration (HDF) modes and expanded hemodialysis (HDx) utilizing dialyzers with medium cut-off (MCO) membranes. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of uremic toxin removal among four modalities: (I) HDx, (II) pre-dilution HDF (PRE-HDF), (III) mixed-dilution HDF (MIX-HDF), and (IV) post-dilution HDF (POST-HDF), each applied for 1 week in a randomized order. This research was a single-center, prospective, open-label, exploratory crossover study.
