To study the jitter parameters in the distant (DM) and the adjacent muscle (AM) after botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT/A) injection in 78 patients, jitter was measured by voluntary activation in DM ( = 43), and in AM ( = 35). Patients were receiving BoNT/A injections as a treatment for movement disorders. Mean age 65.1 years (DM) and 61.9 years (AM). The mean jitter was abnormal in 13.9% (maximum 41.4 µs) of DM, and 40% (maximum 43.7 µs) of AM. Impulse blocking was sparse. We found no correlation of the mean jitter to age, BoNT/A most recent injection (days/units), number of muscles injected, total BoNT/A units summated, number of total BoNT/A sessions, beta-blockers/calcium channel blockers use, and cases with local spread symptoms such as eyelid drop/difficulty swallowing. Maximum mean jitter (41.4/43.7 µs) for DM/AM occurred 61 and 131 days since the most recent BoNT/A, respectively. The far abnormal mean jitter (32.6/36.9 µs) occurred 229 and 313 days since the most recent BoNT/A. We suggested that jitter measurement can be done after BoNT/A in a given muscle other than the injected one, after 8 (DM) and 11 (AM) months, with reference >33 µs and >37 µs, respectively.

Objectives: To compare certain acoustic, aerodynamic, and perceptual parameters before and after an hour-long class to analyze vocal loading characteristics in female Bharatanatyam dance teachers.
Study Design: Prospective study.
Method: The study included 52 female Bharatanatyam dance teachers aged 19 to 40years.
We demonstrate a (FMCW) light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system utilizing a (SNSPD) to measure vibrational spectra using reflected signals at the single-photon level. By determining the time-variant Doppler shift of the reflected probe signal, this system successfully reconstructs various audio signals, including pure sinusoidal, multi-tonal, and musical signals, up to 200 Hz, limited by the laser frequency modulation rate and the Nyquist sampling theorem. Additionally, we employ scanning galvo mirrors to perform 3D measurements and map audio signals from different regions in the scanned field of view.

Unlike continuous-wave laser-based PCS systems, our approach mitigates the non-ideal characteristics of the pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS), such as sloped edges and amplitude jitters, resulting in a more ideal compression process. Additionally, the high harmonic components of the optical pulses further facilitate wideband downconversion, improving the system's operating frequency range.

Introduction: Vocal symptoms are frequent in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and may occur during or after infection.
Objective: To conduct a descriptive review on the topic "dysphonia and COVID-19" in order to alert specialists to these symptoms associated with the virus and sequelae.
Methodology: A literature review was carried out in the main databases: Web of Science, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus, between April 2020 and April 2024 using descriptors that related COVID-19 or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2) to voice disorders.

Background And Objective: Single-source domain generalization (SSDG) aims to generalize a deep learning (DL) model trained on one source dataset to multiple unseen datasets. This is important for the clinical applications of DL-based models to breast cancer screening, wherein a DL-based model is commonly developed in an institute and then tested in other institutes. One challenge of SSDG is to alleviate the domain shifts using only one domain dataset.
