Objectives: To evaluate the early effects of femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) surgery on retinal ganglion cell thickness (GCT), peripapillary retinal nerve fiber thickness (NFT), and central macular thickness (CMT) obtained by spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) in a healthy population.
Materials And Methods: This case-control study included data from the right eye of 40 subjects without any disease other than refractive error and who had undergone femtosecond LASIK surgery. The preoperative, postoperative 1-hour, and postoperative 3-week GCT, NFT, and CMT values obtained by SD-OCT were compared.
Results: The mean age was 27.54±5.99 years (18-45 years). GCT, NFT, and CMT were 18.43±6.03 μm, 107.90±9.01, and 234.3±21.2 μm preoperatively; 18.05±5.93 μm, 108.08±8.92 μm, and 230.1±22.6 μm at postoperative 1 hour; and 17.86±5.27 μm, 107.98±10.13, and 236.3±25.1 μm at postoperative 3 weeks (p=0.159, 0.85, and 0.254, respectively).
Conclusion: There were no changes in GCT, NFT, and CMT values evaluated with SD-OCT in the early period after femtosecond LASIK surgery.

Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a psychiatric eating disorder characterized by body mass index (BMI) ≤ 18.5, fear of gaining weight, and a distorted perception of body weight. With increasing rates of myopia, there is a population of patients who concurrently develop AN and may seek corneal refractive surgery.

Purpose: To compare the refractive prediction accuracy of the Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) SYSTEM with the Barrett True-K (BTK) formula in calculating intraocular lens (IOL) power in eyes that underwent cataract surgery after previous myopic photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) or laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK).
Methods: This retrospective study evaluated patients aged ≥22 years with prior myopic PRK or LASIK who underwent unilateral or bilateral cataract removal and monofocal IOL implantation using the ORA SYSTEM at 177 sites in the United States. Two datasets were analyzed: All Eyes (ie, all eligible eyes) and First Surgery Eyes (ie, each patient's first implanted eye).

Background: Long-term hyperopia shift is a rare complication following cataract surgery, presenting significant clinical challenges in analysis and management.
Case Presentation: A 52-year-old female with a history of high myopia and laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis (LASIK) surgery presented with decreased vision in her left eye at the very fifth year after cataract surgery. The spherical equivalent in her left eye had increased to + 6.

Background: One of the major causes of reversible visual impairment is a refractive error, which can be corrected through refractive surgery. Data regarding the outcomes and complications of these procedures exist; however, there is a notable gap in understanding the factors leading to patient rejection, particularly in diverse populations like Israel.
Objectives: To detect clinical risk factors of patients who intend to undergo LASIK procedure and to improve the conversion rates of LASIK procedure in this population.

Corneal curvature (CC) is a crucial ocular optical system parameter, indicating the shape of the cornea expressed in radii. This study aims to investigate the relationship between CC, age, gender, refractive errors, and central corneal thickness (CCT) in Saudi Arabia, a field lacking in research. Data were gathered from Imam Medical Center in Riyadh and Dr.
