Improving the cutting efficiency is the major factor for improving the processing of nickel-based alloys. The novelty of this research is the calibrated SiAlON ceramic tool dry milling nickel-based alloy process. Firstly, the nickel-based alloy dry milling process was analyzed through the finite element method, and the required milling force and temperature were deduced. Then, several dry milling experiments were conducted with the milling temperature, and the milling force was monitored. The change in cutting speeds was from 400 m/min to 700 m/min. Experimental results verified the reduction of the dry milling force hypothesized by the simulation. The experiment also indicated that with a cut depth of 0.3 mm, cut width of 6 mm, and feed per tooth of 0.03 mm/z, when milling speed exceeded 527.52 m/min, the milling force began to decrease, and the milling temperature exceeded the nickel-based alloy softening temperature. This indicated that easy cutting could be realized under high-speed dry milling conditions. The interpolation curve about average temperature and average milling forces showed similarity to the tensile strength reduction with the rise of temperature.

Global warming has significantly altered plant phenology by advancing the timing of leaf emergence, impacting vegetation productivity and adaptability. Winter and spring temperatures have commonly been used to explain spring phenology shifts, but we still lack a solid understanding of the effects of interactions between conditions in different seasons. This study utilizes normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and meteorological data to examine the effects of changes in winter and spring temperatures and precipitation on the start of the vegetation growing season (SOS) at high latitudes in China from 1982 to 2015.

Five carbide powders, TiC, CrC, ZrC, NbC and SiC, were selected as raw materials and mixed by dry or wet milling. Then (TiCrZrNb)C-SiC multiphase ceramics were successfully prepared by spark plasma sintering (SPS) at 1900 °C, using D-HECs-1900 (dry milling method) and W-HECs-1900 (wet milling method), respectively. This study investigated the effects of various dry milling methods (blade mill (BLM), stone mill (SM), hammer mill (HM), and burr mill (BM)) at different milling severities on pinto bean flour properties, influencing the starch isolation process and isolated starch characteristics. BLM and HM produced fine flours (<180 μm) with lower starch damage (<1 %) compared to SM and BM. The starch isolation yield and efficiency increased with a reduction in flour particle size.

In the present study, to prepare dispersoids with high dispersion stability that can be used as mouthwash, ground mixtures of commercial rebamipide (RB) tablets and hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC-SSL) samples were prepared by dry milling. The physicochemical properties of the ground mixture of HPC-SSL and the powder obtained from the preliminary ground RB tablets were then compared. The dispersoids' physicochemical properties, dispersion stability, retention, and diffusiveness to the mucosal surfaces were evaluated in vitro.

Cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disease, which causes the accumulation of dense mucus in the lungs accompanied by frequent local inflammation. The non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug ibuprofen (IBU) and the mucolytic mannitol (MAN) can treat these symptoms. Compared to per os administration, a lower dose of these drugs is sufficient to achieve the desired effect by delivering them in a pulmonary manner.
