With the advent of medical technology, coronary angiography is a common practice to evaluate patient for coronary artery disease. Normally, patients undergoing angiogram receive antiplatelets, anticoagulants, and platelet aggregation inhibitor agents. Glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor inhibitors are a type of platelets antiaggregant agents that can cause severe thrombocytopenia in very few cases. We present a case of a 69-year-old female who presented with chest pain, underwent an angiography and had two stents placed. She was administered tirofiban during angiogram that caused acute severe thrombocytopenia decreasing her platelets count from 224 to 2 k/mm within 1 day. Patients platelets gradually recovered after trial of steroid and platelets transfusion. Antiplatelets (Aspirin and Clopidogrel) were resumed; however, patient's platelets remained stable.

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging viral hemorrhagic fever with a high fatality rate and notable public health impact, caused by a novel phlebovirus, primarily transmitted through infected tick bites. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of co-infections among hospitalized patients with SFTS, characterize isolated pathogens, and evaluate demographics, clinical features, and laboratory variations to identify potential risk factors for co-infections. In a cohort of 78 SFTS patients categorized into co-infection and non-co-infection groups, 44.

Introduction: Dengue viruses cause either symptomatic infections or asymptomatic seroconversion. Symptomatic dengue has a wide clinical spectrum ranging from self-limiting infection to severe manifestations, mostly characterized by plasma leakage with or without hemorrhage. World Health Organization classification in 2009 classified dengue into dengue without warning signs, dengue with warning signs, and severe dengue.

Background Objectives: Scrub typhus is an acute febrile zoonotic disease caused by the obligate intracellular gram-negative bacteria Orientia tsutsugamushi. Growing data over the last few years on the Indian subcontinent suggest that it is one of the most widespread but under-reported diseases. The study aimed to document the clinical and paraclinical profile and evaluate complications of scrub typhus in severe and nonsevere pediatric age groups.

Vitamin B12 deficiency is a potentially severe condition with clinical manifestations ranging from nonspecific symptoms, such as asthenia and glossitis, to severe hematological problems, including pancytopenia and megaloblastic anemia. One of the rare phenomena associated with this condition is pseudo-thrombotic microangiopathy (pseudo-TMA), which can mimic diseases such as thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), leading to possible misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment. In this article, we present the case of a 62-year-old man with a history of intravenous drug use, untreated hepatitis C, smoking, and alcoholism.
