Background: We report the case of a 79-year-old woman with Alzheimer's disease who enrolled in a clinical study of lecanemab. After the third, biweekly infusion she suffered a seizure followed by aphasia and progressive encephalopathy. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed multifocal cerebral edema and an increased burden of cerebral microhemorrhages compared to pre-trial imaging.

Background: Lexical retrieval therapy (LRT) has been proven to be an effective speech therapy for individuals with semantic variant primary progressive aphasia (svPPA) and semantic cue plays an important ingredient in LRT. In recent findings, differential performance in using and choosing noun-classifiers amongst Chinese individuals with the three subtypes of PPA were observed. The current study aims to explore the treatment effect of employing noun-classifier as a semantic cue of LRT for Cantonese-speaking svPPA.

Introduction: Spontaneous pneumothorax is a life-threatening thoracic condition that could be either primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) in the absence of an underlying lung disease or secondary spontaneous pneumothorax (SSP) in the presence of an underlying lung disease. In the case of recurrent, contralateral spontaneous pneumothorax or persistent air leak with a chest drain, surgery with bullectomy associated with pleurectomy or pleurodesis is the gold standard management.
Aim: To compare two different techniques for bullectomy, either by using staplers or by hand sewing.

The FreeStyle Libre (Abbott) is a human continuous glucose monitor sensor that has been used to monitor glucose concentrations in dogs and cats with diabetes. This sensor and other similar continuous glucose monitoring sensors are increasingly popular in veterinary medicine, specifically for management of diabetes mellitus. The sensor decreases veterinary visits and reduces the stress (and expense) of multiple blood sample collections needed to produce glucose curves.

Ponatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used for chronic myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia, can cause rare cutaneous side effects. In this case, a 63-year-old woman developed a pityriasis rubra pilaris-like eruption 1 month after starting the drug. The skin reaction improved with dose reduction and recurred more mildly at a lower dose.
