In the search for frustrated spin interactions, a YCuO phase has been synthesized by a treatment under oxygen pressure of YCuO. X-ray powder diffraction and electron diffraction studies have been conducted. Electron diffraction shows that the sample is twinned on a 10 nm scale. Precession electron diffraction data obtained from a twinned crystal was treated in order to obtain intensities corresponding to only one of the orientations of the twins. From this data a structure solution was obtained where, as in YCuO, the Cu atoms form triangular planes. The Cu atoms are linked in two dimensions by oxygen atoms in the present structure whereas in YCuO they are only linked in one-dimensional chains.

This study investigated the role of bagasse-based wood vinegar to synthesize and stabilize silver nanoparticles. We present a simple bottom-up approach to produce silver nanoparticles using the green reducing agent.

The present study introduces a minimalistic and cost-effective approach to synthesising Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using aqueous leaf extracts of Andrographis paniculata. In this synthesis, bioactive metabolites in the leaf extract act as reducing agents, converting Au³⁺ ions to metallic Au⁰, while proteins in the extract form a stabilising layer around the nanoparticles to prevent agglomeration and maintain particle size stability. The synthesised AuNPs were systematically characterised using a range of analytical techniques.

Albendazole, an anthelmintic recognized by the World Health Organization as an essential medicine, is known to have limitations in solubility and bioavailability. To improve these properties, binary and ternary multicomponent systems were designed employing different combinations of albendazole desmotropes with maltodextrin and aspartic acid. The impact of these systems in solution was evaluated through phase solubility analysis.
We theoretically investigate the impact of nonlinear dispersion of crystals and multilayers used in Laue-type pulse compressors (LPCs) on chirped x-ray pulse compression, as well as the optimization method for the configuration of LPCs. We also study the application of LPCs to compress chirped x-ray free-electron laser pulses based on the parameters of LCLS-II-HE. The results show that the optimal thickness is half of the Pendellosung period, yielding the best compressor performance with minimal impact from the nonlinear dispersion.
